It’s like something out of the dark ages. Dark ages? As recently as 20 years ago in Scotland (and the rise of the SNP), Labour could be sure of nearly all working class and middle class RC votes. The Tories have deliberately and successfully gone for a certain demographic in the Scotland by returning Unionist to their title.

There seem to be some indications now that Labour MPs can vote for it without being deselected. Maybe Corbyn wants it to pass, so it's easier for him to get Leave votes in the upcoming general election.

Kejan
It could either way (and I'm just a gobshite with a internet connection), but I reckon it's going to get through by about 7-12 votes.

My understanding of Labour Party rules is that the NEC would take that decision, not the party leader.

There's generally a strong feeling in the air that people, including politicians, just want to move on now. Maybe it's time to think about moving to Northern Ireland. Or better still, the Republic.

Much easier to sell Norway/Switzerland versus the Tory deregulated Canada/Singapore/Sell the NHS to the Yanks, without the "put it to a referendum" add on.

As far as I'm concerned England voted to Leave - Scotland voted by a substantial majority to Remain.
