Brexit slowly becoming a Farce.

Corbyn's suggested he will have Labour vote to block Brexit unless it retains access to the single market. Seems fair and I can't see why the PLP wouldn't back him.

It is a principled, sensible, logical and potentially electorally popular position.  What possible reasons would the PLP have for not supporting it?

Nobody can promise a single market before negotiations are concluded. The EU starting point will be no single market without freedom of movement, abiding by EU rules and contributing to its budget. So basically the same as now but without a seat at the table. If she goes into negotiations committed to a single market she's fucked and will have no leverage to threaten the likes of German car makers who export a lot to Britain.

You've got that arse to elbow.  I totally agree that there will be no single market without freedom of movement.  The liars from Leave and within the present Government should be honest about that fact.  Continuing to suggest that there can be access to the single market, or something close to it, without freedom of movement is deceitful and such deceit cannot and should not be an option for Theresa May.

I'm not going to argue whether it's practical to argue for single market access just in terms of a position to adopt it allows Corbyn to ally with the SNP, bring the PLP on board whose Remain campaign focussed on the business benefits of the EU and it'll cause the Tories to hopefully publicly acknowledge whether they think sacrificing single market access is worth it to curb immigration. It's a good tactic I reckon which means he'll probs renege on it and Labour will balloon another open goal.

Wasn't leaving the single market derided as a "scare story put about by Remainers" by most Brexiters until Gove stated it's what he wanted? Now it appears the Brexiters think they wanted to leave the single market all along.

Absolute shambles of a state, governed by a team of morons. Good to know we're all in it together though.

BBC news has an article on May and various businesspeople jetting off to India to strike up trade deals.

Switch channels and there is an interview with Indias trade minister saying the British had wanted to meet in December but they had asked them to come early " to get it over with " Said he couldn't see much prospect of any deals as he couldn't see what would be in it for India

Aye! We're open for business?

It will depend how much "aid" we promise them, same as always.
