lionel hutz
Thought this could make a good thread and start some arguments. Basically, this thread I'm suggesting how big a ground your club needs, depending on average attendances, size of city, etc. My opinion could make it go up or down. E.g. Queens Park will be 3000 whilst Hearts will be over 20,000 Aberdeen Current Capacity - 22,000 Average Attendance - 13,807 Size of City - 220,000 My opinion on what they need - 25,000 Aberdeen would probably fill a new stadium on a regular basis, more than 10x a season, especially if they charged £20 rather than £26. Celtic Current Capacity - 60,000 Average Attendance - 56,456 (16-17 unless stated) Size of City - 606,340 (3 clubs) My opinion on what they need - 65,000 Extra capacity probably needed for OF and CL matches Dundee Current Capacity - 11,500 Average Attendance - 7,050 Size of City - 160,000 (2 clubs) My opinion on what they need - 12,000 Renovation of Derry, is all that I can think that's needed for Dens. They fill it only when the big team crosses the road. #TangerinePound Hamilton Accies Current Capacity 6,310 Average Attendance - 1,788 Size of Town - 53,188 My opinion on what they need - 5,000 Why do they need the Gazebo? Heart of Midlothian Current Capacity - 17,500 Average Attendance - 16,231 Size of City - 492,680 (2 clubs) My opinion on what they need - 25,000 I really think that this expansion of Tynecastle doesn't go far enough, 20,000 is too small a ground for a club like Hearts. Inverness Caledonian Thistle Current Capacity - 7,512 Average Attendance - 3,970 Population of City - 46,870 My opinion on what they need 7,000 Kilmarnock Current Capacity - 17,891 Average Attendance - 3,993 (15-16) Population of Town - 46,350 My opinion on what they need - 10,000 Their ground covered in Flags. The highest crowd I can remember at RP was the Play-off final. Motherwell Current Capacity - 13,677 Average Attendance - 4,249 Population of Town - 30,312 My opinion on what they need - 10,000 Motherwell have a core home support of around 3000-4000 so don't need anything bigger than 10k. Partick Thistle Current Capacity - 10,102 Average Attendance - 3,494 Population of City - 606,000 (3 clubs) My opinion on what they need - 9,000 Rarely ever fill Firhill but if they could attact the crowds back keeping at 9k would allow for that. Rangers Current Capacity - 50,987 Average Attendance - 48,864 Population of City - 606,000 (3 clubs) My opinion on what they need - 55,000 Zombieland is full every week so an extra 5,000 or so would be nice. Ross County Current Capacity - 6,451 Average Attendance - 4,034 (15-16) Population of Hamlet - 5,500 My opinion on what they need - 6,500 Victoria Park is ample for what Ross County need at the minute. Highland derbies are the only games that would ever near sell out. St Johnstone Current Capacity - 10,696 Average Attendance - 3,880 (15-16) Population of City - 47,180 My opinion on what they need - 8,500 McDairmid is barely ever half fill, all they need is enough to pass UEFA regulations and to give 3000 tickets to United, Aberdeen or the OF. The Grass Is Greener.
Every ground should have 4 stands, fucking shambles some don't.
cmontheloknow
Even when Aberdeen were dominant in Scotland, crowds were not much higher than just now.
shull
Add 2 more Teams to every Town & City in Scotland. St Mirren are the third best supported Club in Paisley. Unfortunately
shootingboots
Pittodrie only holds just over 20,000 these days. I think our new ground should be around the 22,000 mark.
Mad Capsule
Unsure how Rangers would get planning permission for a 500 million seater stadium to get all of their worldwide fans in each week.
ICTChris
Every club has the right sized ground except Kilmarnock, although when they extended it their crowds were much higher than they are now.
Staggie52
"Victoria Park is ample for what Ross County need at the minute. I expect the games against The Rangers to do the same. by the way Hamlet is an English term, Town will do nicely.

deej
8500 for McDiarmid would be about right, also happens to be around what would be left if the North Stand had come down.

Meant to say, 8500 would have been enough for the last few seasons, but when we make the CL groups in a couple years we might struggle with only 10k
