He couldn't even be bothered preparing for the debates and by any objective critera got his arse whipped in each of them. How's he going to remember nuances in tactics in dealing with foreign leaders over complex issues? He thinks he can sort out the National Debt by cutting taxes and saying he's only going to honour half the debt. He's also massively thin skinned, which makes him easily manipulated either through extravagant praise or winding him up.

Maybe I should have said that he 'appears to be...' and I have given my reasons for that. To turn it around, what skill sets, experience, intellectual abilities, knowledge and temperament do you think he has to do the job?

welshbairn
He's also going to be the least experienced and knowledgeable person in the room at every meeting, which will kill his ego. And he won't have a fraction of the power he's used to, the Republican Senators and Congressmen/women won't all be the lapdog yes men he's used to. He'll probably spend his days hiding in the oval office with his crayons drawing pictures of a big wall.

Trump surrounds himself with alt right conspiracy theorists and other ego maniac post truthers like Giuliani. If he gets shot of his campaign team and gets some vaguely rational and experienced people in from the GOP and outside he might survive without making a total fuckup until the next Congress elections in 2 years time, when hopefully the Democrats will take over both houses in a landslide and slam the brakes on.

I have no idea what it involves on a day to day basis, hence why I haven't commented on his ability to do the job.IF it is similar to running a large corporation then I hope the US is ready to apply to the courts for Chapter 9 protection.

You comment on lots of things on here where your understanding or perception is no greater than your knowledge what the day to day work of the U.S. President is. Nonetheless I can understand why you don't want to answer the question.

He has built a business worth billions. You don't do that by surrounding yourself with halfwits and lackies. I would also suggest that most Presidents/Prime Minister/whatever are not really prepared for office, despite any experience they may have. The real decision makers are not elected, they are in the intelligence/military agencies. The leader is the one who delivers the message only.

Bunch of hypocrites I'm a Brexiteer and I'm not moaning. Mainly because I , like every one else, do not know what we can expect frm Trump. I am glad Clinton is not the President, however. America needs a change of direction.
tamthebam
I hope Vice President Pence is half decent- he'll be in charge once they find the Donald lying drooling in his office after a stroke/apoplexy. Unfortunately he looks like Frank Drebbin from the Naked Gun..

I hope very much that he does chose skilled advisors in Government, hopefully not the ones who successfully took him through the campaign. I'm more worried about how easily he could be manipulated by the wrong ones, having it would seem no core values apart from getting richer and building monuments to himself. I agree he had the ability to choose the right people for his business, especially his tax accountant, but did he ignore advice from them went he went on his monumentally insane casino building phase in Atlantic City? I fear the only military advice he will take will be from his pet General who seems to have convinced him it would have been possible to take Mosul in a surprise attack overnight. I'm not convinced his business is worth billions by the way, I'd imagine it's heavily leveraged, thus refusing to release his tax records, a juicy scandal would be loans from Moscow banks.

banana
Outstanding tears and snotters of delusion, hatred, and envy in here from people who truly believe a man who has built and rebuilt businesses, won an election against the almost entirety of the media and both parties and a paid Wall Street, engaged in repeated high-level negotiations over that period including beating the absolute piss out of The Mighty Alex Salmond & Co, is going to dictate every point of policy from an ego standpoint without surrounding himself with experts and advisors as he has done for the last 40 years, and has literally no credentials or relevant skills for the job.
