Somebody did it “a 100 years ago but he was a communist” he claimed. The "somebody" was Eugene Debs, and he wasn't a Communist. The BBC informing, educating and entertaining us.

I know that porn stars seem to have more lax sexual standards than most, even off-camera, but really? She must have known it wouldn't be pleasurable, and there's no reality in which "I shagged Donald Trump" makes for a fun after-dinner story, even pre-politics. Frankly, she's the really questionable one here.
Granny Danger
Watched a couple of these vox pop reactions clips and they are just bollocks, edited for balance. In one a guy in a MAGA hat saying he didn’t vote for Trump last time around but will this time; yeah, right.

Certainly looks like there's a huge amount of desperation flying around at the moment; convincing each other than felony convictions are actually a good thing for someone seeking political office. It's interesting to see the evangelical strategies being overtly transferred across to politics; everything will be OK if people just donate enough of their wealth directly to The God Emperor, and their faith will be repaid. They've given Him $50m so far - hallelujah, it must be a sign! Presumably if He isn't re-elected, it'll mean that His congregation didn't believe enough, so the recriminations are going to be harsh. I see the phrase "constitutional republic" is gaining traction, awkwardly used where "democracy" used to be inserted, so we all know where this is heading.

Granny Danger
In criminal law in NY State, if someone is sentenced after being found guilty is the sentence automatically stayed pending appeal or is it at the sentencing judge’s discretion?

In NY, the sentence goes into effect UNLESS the sentencing judge stays it OR the appeals court orders it stayed. A stay by the sentencing judge would normally require a bond. This is why the Donald’s current ranting about Judge Merchan and particular and the Courts in general is ill-advised.

Listening to her testimony I thought it was pretty clear she was less than enthusiastic about it and felt under duress, so I'm not sure I would describe it as voluntary.
Sugar_Army
It is a sad state of affairs that even a porn star feels she cannot say "no". I also think Trump is the kind of person that thinks the word "no" does not mean anything to him, in any context, unless he is the one saying it.
dirty dingus
I've watched a few soft white underbelly videos and it shows how many porn actresses/sex workers are basically desperately lost abuse victims. Kinda puts you off yer w**k. Izzy recovering addict is an eye opener. Trump for all his flaws has charisma so I'm sure he attracts a lot of attention from lost souls. Edit: Izzy = Geniveve Sinn. Hitler was, in general terms, a reasonably effective leader (but evil as hell) at first, something Trump never was/is. Italy under Il Duce was used as part of Hitler’s blueprint to take over in Germany, down to the method of suppression of opponents, but was always a more difficult and less productive version of what Germany became. Under a second term of Trump, America would withdraw from international entanglement, much like after WW1. His insane anti-immigrant schemes would destroy the productivity of the U.S., and likely bankrupt Social Security years earlier than predicted. Food production would plummet, militarised police would be running roughshod over rights, etc. oh, and the Courts would be weaponised against anyone complaining or protesting. So, obviously, the Republicans see him as their best choice for 2024?!

Maybe an effort should be made to educate "moderate" Republicans and the centre unaffiliated voters on the fate of the folk who after an election end up claiming "when I voted for the face-eating leopard party, I didn't think they'd eat MY face...". Sane Americans need all the help they can get.
Salt n Vinegar
Sister in law used to quite like the Donald, but the truth struck her at the weekend when she realised that he is supported by Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and Nigel Farage. If that's not enough to tell you what a despicable being Trump is, I don't know what will.
