Dindeleux
This is still one of the best goals I've ever seen. Cisse and Newcastle were on fire that season.

sjc
Carlos Alberto 1970 World Cup Final. When the centre half is doing step overs inside his own half in the build up you know it's a great goal.
eez-eh
For some reason this one sticks in the memory, surprised Bully Wee Villa hasn't mentioned it already

That half season virtually everything he did went in: Best goal I've seen live: Favourite goals for significance/scene generated where I was watching them: Fond memories of my Nigerian Mum falling over the coffee table then lying on the floor punching the air and screaming at this one:
Bully Wee Villa
Yeah, not bad! I think I've just erased the last six seasons or so from my mind...

s_dog
Since this thread started due to Giroud's cracker at the weekend, how about a spectacular OG scored in similar fashion? https://www.theguardian.com/sport/video/2011/dec/19/best-own-goal-ever-video My top three goals are two that have already been mentioned (Roberto Carlos v France & Bergkamp v Argentina) along with Marco Van Basten's volley v the USSR. The Ginger Prince
Rooney's volley against Newcastle 3 seconds after arguing with the ref is a prime example of a 'thunder b*****d'.

Barry Ferguson's Hat
As I've gotten older I've come to appreciate goals less and less. I'd sooner settle down to a well executed offside trap or the subtle dynamism of a short corner over someone simply kicking the ball into the net. DAFC.
I tried to emulate this goal in training when I played football. Cannot fathom how he got the power behind it to score. Genius.
