Fraser Fyvie
McGinn, Mcgeough and Fyvie wouldn't get in to our midfield even if Lindsay, Murdoch and Forbes had all had a leg amputated, so keep your specialist in failure midfielders and enjoy the playoffs in may. You really trying to pass that off as trolling? Come back and do it properly.
port-ton
You beat a championship side, needed two replays, beat the worst Dundee Utd team in history and then a Championship side in the final. Cowshed118
Is Ross Forbes the guy that was relevant about 8 years ago? Who's Jamie Lindsay? Forbes is the guy with 8 goals and 16 assists so far this season, do keep up

Lets leave that alone. Fraser Fyvie is not among the best midfielders in Scotland, lets leave that alone too. Dylan McGeough is destined for a what-if type career but when fit theres is no one in Mortons midfield who can equal him, as he is likely in the best 2 or 3 midfielders I have seen in the league in recent years. Morton this season are showing what a well managed well drilled team of decent hungry players can acheive and well done to them. Similar to us last season but lets not be touting them as Scotlands top players. Nobody is m8.

He's not the same type of attacking player as Dobbie, so it's a nonsensical comparison. Well no, he isnt the same type of player but if you are picking a team of the bottom 8 they are direct rivals for the same spot in it. Oliver is a good player and had a tremendous game in the 5-0 at Palmerston. Dobbie hasnt had his best showings against Morton either but he has 18 goals this season already compared to what for Oliver? I doubt many neutrals would pick Oliver over Dobbie. Rovers1992/1993
Jean Y'ves M'Voto has to be in the 'Bottom 8' team. He has once again featured in the SPFL team of the week after his performance at the weekend. Excellent player who has came on leaps and bounds since joining us in the summer. He's a lot more confident with the ball on the ground now as well. He showed that at the weekend when he took it past 3 or 4 Hearts boys at the weekend. GiGi
I got to page 4 but I cannot read any more or I might spoon my own eyeballs out. Morton players are operating really well for a team on a low budget. Some of those players will go on to bigger clubs. Hibs are top because they've got better players in general. I think a couple of the Morton players might so really well at a club like Hibs if they got promoted but we'll see where they end up when they're out of contract as most of them will be in May. As for the rest, dearie fucking me.

Well no, they're really not. Any current team of the bottom 8 would certainly be playing the formation of the best team in it, which is a 4-4-1-1. Oliver would be a candidate for the support striker role; your puffing mess would be a candidate for the centre forward position. Indeed, Jim Duffy pointed out in his post-match interview on Saturday that both Nesbitt and Oliver did well in their attacking positions despite and part due to the fact that they "aren't really strikers": Nesbitt played out of position in the 'Quitongo role' and Oliver was in his usual slot behind him - creating the space for Lindsay and Forbes to score from midfield. That your tactical grasp of football is vastly inferior to Jim Duffy's is your fault tbh; I'm merely demonstrating the facts. Thanks for playing anyway. vikingTON
NB: I wouldn't have that puffing mess anywhere near Morton's centre forward role either.

What a fine argument you would present, if Dobbie generally played as a number 9 centre forward. I am impressed at your decision to ignore the fact he has played almost the whole season in number 10 support striker role behind Lyle to suit your case. However the facts are Dobbie and Oliver would both be candidates for the support striker. And not withstanding your opinion that isnt even remotely a serious question. This would be the same M'Voto who stank the place out during your predictable swording by the best team in the current bottom 8, less than ten days ago? Up there with "the Edge" in the list of hilariously overrated centre-backs at this level IMO. By virtue of being the best defender to have played in the league this season, Sir Gavin Gunning captains the team at centre-back. By virtue of being the top scorer in the best team in the current etc, Thomas O'Ware earns the other spot.

Yep, that would be why Queen of the South spent both games against Morton shelling high balls up to Dobbie alongside Lyle, in a perfectly clear 4-4-2 formation. Or perhaps Dobbie just didn't understand the role: hence why you ended up losing both games by a combined 6-0 scoreline to the team with a superior tactical shape and personnel. Either way it really doesn't bode too well for his selection chances.
