Mark Connolly
It's a shame the Queen can't just tell her she's a useless twat and she's not allowed to form a government.
1320Lichtie
They are interviewing four 'young voters' on BBC news 24. Two Tory voters and two Labour. It's incredible how every young Tory you can spot from a mile off. Before they mentioned which two voted Tory it was obvious. There's just a young Tory look. Like they can't quite knock the sneer away from their face. Tories: Pot kettle...!
jmothecat
Pot kettle...! I'm a member of the Labour Party, don't look anything like that. Unshaven, wild hair, donkey jacket with a vote labour pin on it etc etc.

JMDP
Whilst it was obviously a damaging election for the SNP in terms of seats lost, it's not the fatal blow to a further independence referendum that the drama queens are touting. First, the SNP still comfortably won the election despite a return to a two party argument in the lead up to a general election. Second, the Scottish government still has a clear mandate to hold one. Third, despite the rhetoric, the Corbyn surge still lost to a deeply unpopular, incompetent prime minister and was supported by many yes leaning scots voters. For the SNP, they must use this to highlight that the kind of progressive politics they want for Scotland can't win UK wide and that only independence can give Scotland the levers it needs to distance itself from an extreme right wing UK government. There isn't really any place for labour voters to hide now - there isn't a halfway house of progressive influence within this Union. The Scottish conservatives have turned this into the divisive us vs them rhetoric and if we control the narrative well, it's time to confront it in the post brexit shambles. What do you really want, Scottish labour "progressive" voters? A union isolating itself from the world that you can never influence or an independent Scotland, which (no matter the paltry 13 seats Davidson won) that can really employ progressive change for the many, not the few. I'm genuinely saddened by the labour smugness over this result - despite the surge, it can't win.

Corbyn's managed all of this and reduced a Tory majority despite near universal criticism and hostility. I'd like to see any of the Blairite slugs do that. There were still MPs basically calling him useless in the early weeks of the campaign. Refusing to say he could make a good PM on in interviews and the like.
