CLYDE FC Season 2017-18 Thread

Lot of respect for Peaso, great guy, smashing player and we have a lot to be thankful for that he and JP managed to keep us up. His / their 3 signings; Goodwillie of course and the 2 Dundee boys most definitely turned the tide for us last year. The keeper, Gourley was fantastic, he has a real chance of being a top class goalkeeper from what we seen last year.

Goodwillie obviously, its all been said before about his attitude and contribution on the park absolute class (played for nothing last year, didn't know that!). Lets hope whoever gets the Managers job finds a way to actually get him support on the park and passes to feet or channels.

That alone should disqualify him. Bit of dignity, please.

His major 'achievement' is winning the Lowland League with a massive budget then failing to beat a rank rotten Cowdenbeath team over 2 legs.

He's not what Clyde need.

Was shown this by a friend who's on Facebook page.

I know we live in a world of social media, but pimping for a job on facebook isnt very dignified at all, and strikes of desperation.

We need to take time and not rush this appointment. I would suggest the club have already sounded a few people out before the dismissal of Chapman. I personally don't care if the next manager has connections to things that we as supporters don't like. All I want and everyone should be thinking the same is we get someone who turns our fortunes around. No matter who we appoint they will have a hard job getting us out of this division. It's not impossible though. We have some duds at the club and we have some decent players at this level. We need to start playing to our strengths and hopefully the new manager can wheel and deal a bit and bring in a little more quality. It's still possible to get into the play offs this season and this should be the aim. Their is plenty of good managers out their and some good coaches. We should be aiming as high as we can and approach the best. Nothing is impossible.

It’s a private fans group so don’t think it would work.

I see. Someone get it screenshotted, this sounds like it has the potential for hilarity on a par with Gary Locke's LinkedIn profile.

Although Chapman had gripes about our support if he had managed to win some games it could be a strength  no other team in this league has the same travelling numbers but it needs to be harnessed for it to count and obviously the other big advantage we have is a striker of goodwillie again Chapman wasted this if we get the right man in its not too late to make play offs despite what's been said still think it's potentially an attractive job  certainly at this level

Dont post much on here no more but willing to clear up.a few things. Martin was asked some Questions by a few clyde supporters on a "Closed" fans page which he duly did after Jim chapman and Joyce were removed from their position simply out of human courtesy and fellow management respect (Feel free to join the closed page to confirm but thats where these posts or any post should remain)..

Regards martin's previous management he has won leagues with provisional teams(EK now 3rd or 4th on same budget) hes managed scoring a high amount of goals,Not losing them and is young & hungry to succeed with us as oppose to the merry go round of dinosaurs, Thats a lot better than chapman who once won a 3rd div with dumbarton(Shire finished 2nd!!) that many of posters on here wanted...

Were 3rd bottom of the third div and we have a successful manager who wants the job, Has many good contacts and friends in the game who would probably loan us a player or few & just get the feeling their wont by many of martins calibre who would fancy the gig in our current position...

Huge decision by Norrie and Board, If it aint Lauchie fair enough but the appointment has to be the same or better than him who also knows our level and important who wants it (Craig Mcewan only one that springs to mind), Otherwise it could sadly be curtains for us.
