Spam_Valley
Never was good enough, really. Too error prone to ever be top league standard. However, good luck to the big man. Hope he’s got something lined up already.

Feel for the big man I dont think we will have seen the last of him in the coming seasons. He came through our youth system has been at the club from child to adult. I'm sure he will be feeling gutted. He joined us after he left the blue bigots when he was 15. A guy who gave us his all, but just wasn't quite good enough IMO. Definitely need CH cover in now.
houston_bud
Sorry to see Baird go but he clearly wasn't in Goodwins's plans. An often maligned player but he played an important role in our great escape and championship winning teams. He's quick, strong and good in the air. There's a player in there and I think a good coach will get a lot out of him. I hope he does well wherever he goes.
DumbartonBud
He was a mainstay in many crap saints sides. Better than most of the crap he played with but not as good as the guys he sat on the bench for.
Wilbur
Cheesy 2 IMO. A nearly man. Always a wholehearted, committed player but occasionally prone to errors and a regular target for the boo boys in our support. Good luck Jack.

He's an average Championship centre back who's lacking in positional sense and prone to costly lapses in concentration. Put him beside a better centre back who can talk him through games or cover for his mistakes and he'd improve considerably, but we had him beside a parade of clowns so those mistakes were a regular feature. Despite those flaws he was still our best centre back by a mile due to the competition, and our only centre backs currently are two of the aforementioned clowns in 800 year old Brian McLean and all round joke figure Sean McGinty so we'll certainly be back in for him. If half the Championship are after him now he's been mutally consented we'll likely be comfortably outbid though.

What you’ve just described sounds an awful lot like Aaron Muirhead as well which isn’t brilliant.

No coincidence that some of his best performances at the club came when he played beside Gary MacKenzie or Harry Davis.
andrewh
Always gave his all, but unfortunately just falls a bit short of the level required for Premiership football. Going by last Saturday he’s not the only one. Some article, subscription only, saying that teams can’t cope with St Johnstone’s new style of play. Suggesting it’s devastating. Really?

It highlighted just how paper thin our squad is, and how wrong Goodwin got his tactics. Thought yous looked decent but not sure how much of that was down to our miserable performance.

When he's got a more experienced defensive partner he's far better. Put him beside a younger one and he's not so good, which is a bit worrying considering he's played about 150 games. All the best to him as he always gave his all, which can't have been easy considering the disaster of the club was going through in his first few seasons. However, the fact that Goodwin had two chances in five games to play him and opted to move a midfielder into defence instead shows wasn't even in his plans as a squad player, which is a shame.

Silvio
Jack should be well remembered for his stint in the great escape season. McKenzie and Davis were both injured and in and out of the team and he was the mainstay. Add in a good campaign in the league winning season he can go with his head held high.

As with a lot of our players from the past few seasons, he's going with nothing but best wishes from pretty much all of our support. It's a recurring theme, sadly, that guys who put in a shift in the Championship have simply been lacking at this level, and no amount of sentiment or good wishes can change that. The only guys left in the squad from the 17/18 Championship winning season are Magennis, Macpherson (who was mainly on loan at Stranraer), Erhahon (played two games that season) and Ryan Flynn.

Any club signing a player who is just recovering from an acl reconstruction would be taking a substantial risk. Jack Ross visiting perchance?
