djchapsticks
The thing is, any time we've done something like this in the past it's been viewed as the cheap option. There's no chance that Brown will come cheap though so no-one could even level that at the board.

Exactly. This would suit Aberdeen more than anything. 23 minutes ago, Highlandmagyar Tier 3 said: Much as I am not a McCall fan, he wouldn't go to St. Mirren. He is probably in his last job unless a much bigger job comes up. Which it won't. Aye, the feeling is mutual in that regard .

Coventry Saint
Wonder if Grant McCann would be interested. 40% win rate in and around league 1/the Championship.
Ric
Are we so stupid as to do Aberdeen's work for them. We've already "given" them a new manager and assistant, are we going to give Pittodrie a quick mop and clean, while fluffing Cormack's pillows before he settles down as the same time as solving the biggest problem facing them? Bringing Brown in is nothing but negatives, all negatives. The only positive someone can say is "well, he might turn out to be good".
Dons_1988
You can have brown if Ronan comes the other way.

So both managers were on an equal footing then and the only difference was that one had experience and the other didn’t? We lose multiple players every season and replace them with multiple players. We’ve replaced multiple managers in recent seasons. We have the same finances as all the clubs we are competing against.

In the sense that those clubs can make that gamble, if it works, it works, if it doesn't it's only a short term bump. They are insulated by their wealth and squad quality/size. We are obviously not.

Relative to the clubs we are competing against we are in no different a position. We’ve literally replaced stacks of players and managers in recent seasons.

What were you expecting? Bottom half club loses manager to top half club is a fairly common occurance tbf. At least before he left he gave them lifelone memories like reaching a Semi Final and almost finishing 6th.
