tam the bud
Since I am going to miss the game I can only hope we get through to give me a chance of making the next game. My fear is playing a team that managed to score 4 away goals regardless of who they were playing.

I think if you’d seen the standard of the Albanian defence, you’d have fancied your own chances of scoring 4 against them. Having watched most of both games, I’d say they will need to play a helluva lot better if they are to trouble us. That doesn’t mean they won’t play a helluva lot better mind. I didn't no, but just have the fear of any team that can score as often that they do. Just hope you and the bookies are right.
jimmy boo
1 hour ago, TPAFKA Jersey 2 said: So it looks like the club have held back N4 and N5 which is a total of 670 seats. Assume the seats to the west of the N4 exit (124) will be used as segregation, leaving a total of 546 tickets for Valur fans. Not sure if it's still the case but when I worked in Glasgow years ago the hotels would be rammed every December with Icelanders(?) flying in to do their Christmas shopping as for them the whole trip was dirt cheap. Hopefully they bring a good number next week.
Molotov
It would be good if the club were to invite Gunni as a special guest for the return leg and introduce him at HT.
Buttocks Brown
Tony F started our last away European tie (Mechelen, October '87). I wonder how many other people on the Iceland trip were also there 37 years ago. Less than 20?

There are plenty of factors that make this a tricky tie, but them putting four past the Albanians isn't one of them, IMO. If the opposition is poor enough, the GD becomes irrelevant. Case in point: Dundee United scored five goals last night, and they are managed by Jim Goodwin.

Those shots of him looking miserable have fairy done the rounds on here - when he had the temerity to say we could challenge for top six or even top four. This won't last forever - we might get pumped tonight, theres a good chance we're not top six this year - but Tony fucking believed and here we go. Nobody laughed at him saying you could get top six, it was the fact he claimed its where you historically should be finishing.

Now you are wrong. We had fans whose outlook was to budget for 10th in case we ended up financially rooked. So finishing top 6 was pie in the sky to them.

tam the bud
I know we are not used to European football, but there is a part of this forum for European games called Scots in Europe. Just in case nobody knew
FTOF
Article in The Herald suggesting that Iacovitti's injury may not be hamstring related and that Tanser is fit. Race to Iceland underway with Stephen Robinson ready for St Mirren tie | The Herald (heraldscotland.com) Quote Recent St Mirren recruit Shaun Rooney misses out due to a suspension picked up while with St Johnstone but there is better news on Alex Iacovitti and Scott Tanser who have both been nursing injuries. “Alex came off not long after coming on against Carlisle which was a concern at the time but we feel it’s more of a back and neural issue than an actual hamstring strain,” explained Robinson. "When you see a hamstring injury, you fear the worst straight away. But we have the best physio in the UK in Gerry Docherty and when he tells me there isn't much to worry about then I sleep a wee bit better. We're quietly hopeful he could be involved in the second leg. "Scott's a very fit boy and we're hoping he will take a place on the bench minimum. He gives me real competition and options He is back fit again. He has had an injection in his back and he has responded brilliantly to that.”
Buttocks Brown
Next week's TV listings have BBC Scotland showing live coverage of a Europa / Conference League tie on Thursday evening. Presume they'll announce if it's us or Killie in the next few days.

Since they only went on sale today, I expect a sell out by the end of the day. Just over 100 left now.

Surely it would be a wee bit shit to show both of Killie’s games and neither of ours. Not that I’m bothered. I’ll be there.
