Over £3m in reserves at the last accounts, but last seasons isnt included in them.

I dont think Murray Davidsons wage was an issue.

Ali Crawford is apparently one of our highest earners and Nicky Clark, who still has 2 seasons on his deal left and seems crippled, is seemingly one of the highest earners

But you need to add to the squad surely? If that means getting folk out on loan or pay-offs., then that's life.

We had Brophy, utd had a few including Watt, Levitt and Fletcher that they loaned out, sold and let go.

Early doors to predict, but I think Livi, Dee, and Killie, will struggle. I think you guys, RC and Motherwell will be in that next mini league. We might be in with you, but I'm obviously hoping we're above you all.

Be interesting to see if the Dons play with Stewart at CB again or if Hearts have such a poor run as the did in 2023 so far.

Thank f**k Goodwin never managed to sign Clark a few seasons ago.

We've got rid of 17 players and still have over 20 contracted players over 19yo, with a few of these players taking 2 players wages and impossible to move on for nothing (Crawford for example wont give up his current deal as he wont get near it elsewhere).

Realistically theres about 1 player we could see leave this Summer and it would be a 19yo on loan.

Hes a good striker tbf, and i doubt any other club wouldve given him those wages.

Callum Davidson gave Ali Crawford a 2.5yr deal on huge wages in about September because an agent told him that Crawford, who we had on loan until June, was so massively in demand we'd struggle to keep hold of him in January.

By January we'd dropped him ourselves 😂

Why is this pish not on the Fakes thread

Because you have fans talking as if having a below average keeper is leading to disaster and relegation. Im helping give perspective.

The Carson stuff, from the outside, looks like it was fairly unpredictable when planning started for this window. Youd be better muddling along with Hemming until you get the right one at the right price in to replace Carson, than panic commit to someone like we've done for 18 months and f**k yourself long term. You have a safety net which means relegation is massively unlikely if Hemmings is even close to semi-competent.

Agree with this - having a keeper below the standard of what we've been used to is only likely to scupper any top 6 ambitions rather than leading to us being in relegation trouble. St Johnstone, Livi, Killie and Dundee all have more work to do on their squads than we do, so unless we also lose Baccus, Strain and O'Hara all on the last day of the window and replace them with guys from the English sixth tier, I don't think we'll be in serious trouble.

Of those you got rid off some were bigger earners. Matthews, Montgomerie, Halberg, McLellan, Carey, Blair.

Sure you can carry a couple of bigger wages and still add better than you've got.

Youngsters out on loan etc.

3 of those were on loan and 1 is still at the club...

But either way, we've been massively overbudget for years and have spent on fees too. The cutting back this Summer is severe.

Manager says 3/4 signings is it.

It came up over a few beers.

We can jump to various conclusions but only time will tell.

No doubt they are the more likely choice.

Interesting if the manager is looking for an attacking midfielder.

Aberdeen have been struggling for weeks to reach an agreement with this guy's club.

If they are struggling, there's absolutely no chance for us. Not sure where this rumour originated but it's surely a non-starter.

Talk is his club wants over 150k euros. Hardly beyond Aberdeen. Is it beyond us?

Given we've just spent £125k and sweated bullets doing so, I'd say it certainly is.

Didn't we get 6 figures in twice recently from RC and are fairly likely to get another sizable chunk in for Baccus or perhaps 1 or 2 others.

Depends whether we see this guy as a sellable asset or not.
