Looks like your upward trend will continue this year as well.

Tough to call that: we have improved as a squad and our style of play has noticeably improved. Roland Idowu is an absolute find and will score/create a lot from number 10. We still have two of our better players out injured.

All that said, I still think we'll struggle to replicate last season's finish/placing.

Seems fair. I don't think Kilmarnock or Dundee have regressed any and Aberdeen are likely to not have anything like the season they had.

Anything between 5th and 8th would be a success.

10th and a glory run to the group stages would be a runaway success!

Our pot for today's draw. We'll draw one of the grey teams.

Fiorentina, last season's losing finalists is the dream tie on paper. Ljubljana vs Sheriff is the one that maybe just give us an outside chance should we progress to the playoff round.

We absolutely bullied Hibs and Valur . We have a right physical presence and have very good cover throughout the squad with several versatile players giving us good cover all over the pitch . Think we will be very hard to beat at home .

Lots to be pleased about today but particularly happy for James Scott, considering he struggled to get going last season.

2 excellent assists: I thought the pass for the first should have gone near post, but I hadn't seen Smyth coming into the box. Scott did, great vision and execution. The second, calm head and perfect weight of pass. Will do him the world of good.

He was brilliant when he came on. The 2 assists will give him a great boost of confidence too.

Maybe too early to say but I'm going to anyway, not only is Balcombe an upgrade on Hemming, he looks like he could be better than Alnwick and Hladky.

What a few days it's been, I hope we can keep it rolling onto Thursday.

While we have improved the squad and a new formation looks a lot better than last season I expect at least Aberdeen to improve. Utd are still unknown.

Our upward trend has continued but too early to say it's enough for another 5th place or higher but yes we look a far better squad than last season.

James Scott definitely falling into the "like a new signing" category now. Looks much sharper and fitter. Hopefully he takes a lot confidence from that display yesterday.

A long way to go before deciding who will finish where. We have made a solid start and look to have improved.

We are a couple of players short in terms of quality but we have Kiltie and McMenamim to add into the mix.

Every team will be a challenge but at least we look competitive.

Having thought about the game today, it has to be said Marcus Fraser was immense today.
He positively excelled as captain in Mark O’Haras absence.

Loved it when Idowu went down with cramp just around the 90 minute mark, looking for someone to stretch his legs. Think we were just about to defend a corner.

Marcus went charging over and have him an earful. Almost like "I don't care if you've been brilliant today. We don't do that at St Mirren, mate". Roland sheepishly got up off his arse and made his way into the box!

Yup. And another occasion where Rooney went down holding his ankle and Gogic ran over, slapped him on the back and hoiked him back up to his feet. 🤣🤣

I think it was more to do with us being 94 minutes into what we knew would be a 100 minute match and with a lot of tired legs wanting to just see it out, the captain not fancying it stretching to a 103 minute match for one guy whose legs were feeling it as much as the rest of them.

I dont think it was any great show of nobility or anything to the spirit of playing the game how it should be. We know how to string it out with the best of them when needed. I think it was more a 'FFS get up and get on with it so we can get to FT, we're all f**ked here!' type intention.

Agreed.  As are Brown and Ayunga.

Our best bit of business was getting Gogic to sign a new deal tho.  He’s an absolute warrior who leaves everything on the pitch every game.

Agreed.
Feel that a player like him would have helped Hibs these last few seasons….

😂

I notice that Ethan Sutherland wasn't involved at all yesterday. Does anyone know if he had a fitness issue ? I'm hoping this isn’t a sign of him being about to be sent away on another loan period in the seaside leagues or, even worse, sold to the highest bidder. This ought to be his big breakthrough season with us.
