The European football level St. Mirren FC 2024/25 thread

Recommended Posts

Is it a wee bit disappointing that there’s still about 700 unsold tickets in the home stands for Saturday?

The strange thing is that it’s sat at around that number since early last week.

I’d have thought a good few more would’ve sold in the intervening time.

Wouldn’t be shocked if it was Mallen.

I would be and it won’t be. Mallan can’t run, tackle or stay fit enough to play a consistent run of games at any level now.

Hopefully all is good then, I’d be be quite happy if it is just a rumour.

Both are in the pictures of the players training on Twitter.

So hopefully an unfounded rumour if it was those two that we required cover for.

Kieran Offord looks to have bulked up. The lad is on good scoring form in NI

Would love a home grown forward to make it at the club

Would be interesting if the club exercised the option of bringing him back in January if he continues to do well out there, though on the other hand we have a serious amount of options upfront when everyone is fit and that was with also sending LJ out on loan.

Guessing you mean Basher.

I'd say McGarry with 150 appearances made it at the club and went onto have a good career. Still wasn't a kick in the arse off 25 years ago.

I'd also argue he ended up being more a midfielder.

Probably right. He definitely settled into that role as his career went on.

Would say he was definitely a forward though up until probably the SPL season, if not an out and out striker.

Similar in a way to Paul McGowan when he signed for us vs McGowan by time he went to Dundee. Just drifted further and further back.
