Rovers have been doing quite well, we’ve played several games less than other LL sides. Add to that SU had a very good season last year and that Rovers are recently relegated as well as the convenience of being at Stirling all combine to have us on TV. despite all this I’m surprised! I was at the game 9 years ago.

To be fair, the TV picked Pollok 3 times for live tv coverage and Darvel only twice. Think the first Pollok live Tv game was cancelled due to BBC coverage of the queens' funeral Edited September 7, 2023 by Bestsinceslicebread

If the queen's funeral hadn't been on they would have just been picked twice.

I don't think they picked the Pollok game to make up for it as I'm sure both teams got paid the expected money from that cancelled first round tie, (I'll speak to one of the Pollok committee soon and find out) and the BBC deemed Pollok V Annan tie, which was a cracker and the previous Cumnock v Dumbarton tie to be good viewing games. Two games that small clubs had a slight chance of winning, BBC thinking giant killing games to people who don't know much about the lower level of football Edited September 7, 2023 by Bestsinceslicebread

Maybe Forthbank has better facilities set up for broadcasters than some of the other possibilities.

Dav nan Gael
I see Rovers are going to "Armadale no surrender Thistle" in the south challenge Cup.......... Not far too travel along the A89,should be a good crowd there. Wide steer the Regal Bar around the corner from Volunteer park, its the hardcore of "ra peepul" pubs in the town. The "Highlander" just up thru the Cross is your best bet

However your point about the Regal, sadly is valid so at least you got one thing right.
HTG
Forthbank probably requires the least amount of effort to televise a match at this level.

The town is what is and to be fair The Regal is no worse than any other pub in Armadale or other towns around there. The work done by the club has been excellent.
roy of the rovers
I've been at the Volley many times and I've never had any problems or seen any bother so don't anticipate any this time either. Can't see it being a walkover but Rovers should win this.
