"NAM" motherfucker!

DHSS actually, but the carnage was similar. I'd like to have seen Shandon turn up in his Cape and slippers.

Come to think of it, he wouldn't have stood out at all among the jumble sale, pyjama clad clientele.

There's something very cathartic about this thread. I've read before it's good for men's mental health to go to the pub because they talk more over a few pints than they might otherwise. This is like the online, slightly more sober version. Seeing posters talking about adult problems and helping out without (too much) ridicule.  Good shit.

Does that template not sum up the youth of today? I can borrow what I want but when I can't afford to pay it back it's someone elses fault.

This post isn't a pop at yourself or everyone who has borrowed from these companies. I just take issue that it's purely their fault. It's similar to folk who complain about losing all their money on gambling and that someone should have stopped them. When did we stop taking responsibility for our own actions?

I've never used these companies but when you take out a loan does it not tell ylu how long you have to pay it back and how much it'll cost?

I'd be interested to see an age breakdown of the customers of pay-day loan companies.

They can obviously get a lot of people in a hole but lending money to people with bad credit ratings is expensive.  If companies were barred from doing this then there would be no credit available to people on low incomes or with bad credit ratings.  Although maybe fewer people would have bad credit ratings in the first place if they didn't lend to people.

I'm very proud of my maturity for not suggesting that DA has blown all the money from these payday loan companies on prototypes for his sex pram.

Have spoken with Step Change and got a plan in place. Hopefully none of the companies reject it! It will take up almost half of my monthly wages for 5 months. That's before I pay rent, council tax, electricity and of course my Debt Arrangement Scheme (that still has over 5 years to run), as well as food and such essentials. Will leave me having to keep a very tight rein of things and really curtail what I can do, but needs must. I've already had to cancel a gig I was going to this week, which is a but gutting as I was looking forward to it and to seeing some friends I've not seen in ages. But then it's what I get for being a tit.

After 5 months I'll only have the debts left that the DAS covers but will be out of the payday loan cycle and the credit card will be totally paid off as well. It will hopefully force me to stop doing such stupid shit and might help with other problems as well. Sets me back in some plans I had, but I've wasted circa 16 years of my life, so a few more months won't be that bad.

Could be worth thinking about doing the odd pub or supermarket shift to get you through, sounds like a really tight budget.

It’s shit but once the debt is gone you’ll feel brilliant. I had circa £4-5k from various things a few years back and had got into the payday loan cycle as well.

I made my last big payment last payday and this will be the first month that I have a full wage which is mine to keep and with none of it going out to service the debts. Feels amazing. [emoji4]

That could be a shout DA, I know the last thing you probably want to do after a day at work is go back out for another shift, but a couple of nights extra work could help you out?

I've been thinking about some part time work. Not something I want to do really but if I can maybe get a couple of evenings a week somewhere it could help. Will have to look in to it

DA you have just put yourself down three times in a row there, i hate to think what your CV looks like.

What about a job working in the Amazon warehouse? Assuming you live near Dunfermline.

As I said in another thread, my CV is just a list of TV shows I've never seen.

No, I live in Dundee

Rob Granny Danger’s house when he’s on holiday.

I think the home has a security lock and guards. Plus I don't think the indoor market would buy a stairlift

Warehouse work might work for you though. Or just work in a 24/7 Asda. I don't blame you for not wanting to do bar work, i did it a few times and absolutely hated every minute of it.
