No, silly.  Press the peas onto the tines of one's fork.  Not only does this look elegant but, as the peas are crushed, they don't appear as little floaters when one goes to one's lavvy the next day.

Drinking a cup of tea/coffee with the spoon still in is the action of a plebeian.

The correct thing to do is fire aw yer peas in among the mash, mix it all together, then the resultant mixture can be eaten no problem using a knife.

My neighbour is like this. Add to it the mountain of uncleared junkmail as seen through the bit of glass by the door, never ever turning off the TV and the occasional waft of whatever it is that resembles rotting flesh.
