BBC bias

Recommended Posts

According to Melanie Phillips on QT tonight, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is entirely fabricated and nothing more than Hamas propaganda, the umpteen various organisations who have described exactly what is happening are liars, and food aid sent by Israel is simultaneously being "stolen" by Hamas yet ending up on fully stocked supermarket shelves inside the blockaded area itself.

She's always been utterly vile, and she's not an unknown quantity, yet the BBC continually platforms her and others of her ilk. One of a multitude of reasons why I will not countenance paying this fucking excuse for a national broadcaster their extortion fee licence.

She’s a fascist and the BBC has no problem platforming fascism.

Well yes, but then they will still turn around and claim the BBC is institutionally "woke" and shows a continual Lefty bias.

My issue with the BBC is a long standing one, and it isn't actually about whether or not it's pro-Right/Left, it's the fact that somehow the desperation to appear impartial has lead to a culture whereby it challenges absolutely nothing, no matter how blatantly false it is, for fear of being accused of showing preference. It's why you have scum like Phillips invited to spout complete drivel verging on hate-speech time and time again on Current Affairs progs, Government ministers talking complete pish in front of Laura Kuennsberg every single Sunday morning while she just sits and passively nods along, and "journalists" mindlessly parroting whatever shite Downing Street has fed them that day without actually bothering to consider whether or not there is any grain of truth to it.

It's risible. They have no integrity whatsoever, yet if someone was to stand up in the audience and call Phillips out for her hate and lies, which they shouldn't have to do in the first place if the Chair was in any way fair and diligent, they'd be chucked out, banned from coming back, and in a couple of weeks MP would be back on the show with another round of lies and slander completely uncontested by the smug Tory cow moonlighting as host.

They really need to give that factchecker lassie an entire department to herself, and run it live and concurrently with anything current affairs/news that they broadcast, so that when Sunak or some other lying arsehole is busy havering complete nonsense, they actually call it out as complete nonsense. So f**k if the Government boycotts the BBC, they can go spout their pish on GB News instead, where they'd be preaching to an already converted lunatic fringe that doesn't question anything in any case. That, in a nutshell, is what fucking incenses me about the modern BBC. People laugh and joke about GB News, but in it's own way the BBC is every bit as lacking in credibility, it's just caused and driven by a slightly different set of failings. I'm not expected to pay for GB News though, and at the same time accept the pish that I'm being provided with is a "world leading" public service broadcaster that I ought to be grateful for.

BBC Radio 5L just now.

The news roundup at 09.30. Talking about Hester who apparently 'had been rude' to Diane Abbot.

RUDE - he racially slurred her and said she needed shot, but according to the BBC that is just rude.

The BBC website had a Have Your Say, their clunky c2003-style commenting forum on the Engerlundland v Brazil game, the one decided by Endrick's goal.

I posted this:

Nice to see England not only beaten, but beaten by a goal from a lad who shares his name with a Scottish river.

It was hooked. For being 'off-topic'.

Touchy...

Good to see the BBC Radio morning editions majoring on how the new Hate Crime law is "controversial" and "has been criticised by Police, womens groups Elon Musk and JK Rowling" but offering no positive rationale for the introduction of the law from people impacted by hate crimes etc..........

The evolution of the editorial is now (at 7.30) that the law will have a "chilling effect" on free speech.

The phone-in from 9.00 is about it. Will folk manage to call in without breaking the law?

Its amusing that BBC R4 had Peter Tatchell calling in this morning, now he is actually an overrall supporter of the bill, but he had a couple of concerns - guess which soundbite they used on the 9.30 news package?

Justin Webb was also interviewing the Scottish Minister responsible later and threw an - entirely fictional - scenario at her and kept badgering her for a response.

I’d happily do a weekend in Bell Street for calling into Kaye Adams and calling her a fucking boot.

With apologies for b*****dising the original quote from the wonderful Billy Connolly - anybody who calls into a phone in on the radio should be barred from calling radio phone ins.

Just to be completely clear, the criticism from Police groups is more to do with the fact they’ve created legislation which really would require in person training and the government has defunded the police to the extent that this cant be done. The Scottish Police Federation doesnt object to legislation being put in place to deal with hate crime, simply the delivery is poor. I dont see it having any impact on free speech in any way really.
