We went from the League Cup Final to being scudded by Cowdenbeath in about three years.

And then a few years after that, the League Cup semi-final to being scudded by Cowdenbeath the following season.

Lolkirk have at least now almost certainly equalled Ayr's record of longest period in the third tier. Fail to get up next season and they'll officially be living in a worse spell than the worst spell Ayr ever had.

Is this the guy that got everything right last season?

Ordinarily I wouldn't wipe my dog's arse with the Daily Record but with the Ayrshire Post sadly being just a pathetic little imprint these days they have VOR to corroborate things and he's pretty much the only journalist-shaped-thing with any expertise in this domain.

If we could tempt players that were on 21k a week, I’d like to think we’d aim for better than Barry Bannan.

Don’t follow the English league one so didn’t know he was still getting a game at Sheffield Wednesday. How can they afford to pay players 21k in the third tier is baffling. That’s probably a weeks worth of salary for our whole squad

Can see the money in the EFL only getting worse after that ludicrous Sky deal they just got. £180m a season.

Live locally and follow league.

He is the most creative player in the league by miles.

No way he'd be coming to Ayr unless as a player manager / coach.

Not happening.

£935m over 5 years to cover the 3 lower leagues of English football whereas to broadcast the top league in Scotland they pay £150m...

Plus as much as we all hate them our top league has two clubs in it who pull a massive worldwide audience when they play each other which matches nowhere close to likes of West Brom vs Birmingham City for example when it's on

Yeah enough said
