But they're glorified friendlies. I couldn't care less and as usual I'll spend the four games just hoping for no injuries.

Aye 2 Angus derbys in the league cup and playing the top 6 prem team... but just "friendlies"

In other years maybe but definitely not this time, all about your attitude to the games.

They are glorified friendlies but the fact we have two derbies makes them more interesting than Dundee at Dens Park.

Cowdenbeath, is a fairly optimistic win. St Mirren a thumping. However, we probably will lose to Montrose and Arbroath but the fact they are derbies means it's less easy to predict, especially if we get behind the team. The old 12th man adage.

Oh aye, I'd much rather see injuries and suspensions racked up in a competition that bears little impact on the season.

So that signing leaves the squad like this

GK - McCallum

RB - Nditi

CB - Allan, Munro, Whyte, Morrison

LB - Brindley

RM/LM - Thomson

CDM/CM/CAM - Moore, Whatley, Inglis

ST -

Probably gone - Seb Ross(CAM/LM/RM), jay Kennedy(GK)

To me that leaves us with needing to sign permanently at least:

1 GK (more experienced backup than previous years)

1 LB or RB (preferably LB)

2 LM/RM (1 who naturally plays LM and then 1 who can play both)

1 CM (preferably someone who can replace what we lost with slater)

2 ST (hopefully at least 1 who guarantee's goals and maybe 1 who has potential from a lower league)

Good signing that, takes some pressure off of Whyte coming back too.

Although fair warning apparently Morrison was injured almost the whole season too, hopefully he's fully over it.

Edinburgh City had Morrison on loan from Dunfermline a few seasons back.

I liked him although he had the unfortunate habit of getting injured diving into tackles....

It's part of Ray's masterplan. We won't sign a striker because Andy Munro will be playing up top for is. 😂
