Strikers coming through

Yeah. I noted Kyle Joseph, too.

It's only League 1, but it's just where we are at the moment that we have to consider anyone who is storing goals. Regardless of the level.

Spoiler

We don't have any natural wingers starting regularly either. Certainly none with explosive pace and high potential at a level above League One. If we did, we'd surely be looking at them, eh?

Let's stick with a narrow, plodding front three.

Definitely don't have any 18 year olds who might transform the way we play, and make the best of our mediocre strikers.

Definitely not.

In Euro 2024 qualifying, only six teams scored more goals than Scotland, and only four players scored more goals than Scott McTominay. While it would of course be nice to have a variety of reliable international goalscorers, it appears that we already have one of the best there is. Why does it matter that he's not the furthest player forward?

Would go one further and say being the furthest forward would completely eliminate everything he is good at - arriving late into the box, long range shooting, driving runs in the attacking third etc.

Imagining telling us to to give starts to a English league one player but then writing off a teenage Liverpool player playing a league higher on loan that is playing well and who is one of our most naturally gifted players we have currently, can't make it up.
