Draw for second round on Thursday . Bore ham Wood and Sutton United join draw. Not exactly sure where Boreham Wood is but will be there if drawn away to them. Who needs the Champions league when we have the challenge cup. In fact to be drawn away to any of the non Scottish teams would be ideal.

Boreham Wood is in North-West London, not far from Watford.

(apparently it’s technically in Hertfordshire, but it’s just inside the M25)

Morton fans having some meltdowns on Twitter, most of the heads gone directed at Bobby Barr. Strange lot getting worked up so much about the challenge cup lol

Bobby Barr is a time-honoured c**t; even if he was playing a game of tiddlywinks it would still be a good opportunity to remind him of this fact.

Barr left us to “pursue a better challenge” and proceeded to get Raith relegated and then keep them in the seaside leagues, whilst his former club were pushing for the playoffs and playing a semi final at Hampden.

Good upwards move, that.

That still doesn't detract from some absolute minter comments on Twitter about wanting him to be investigated by the police for trying to incite a riot.

A 9 month stretch in Bar-L for cheering in the direction of the Morton fans beckons.

Sorry sons fans but those wanting robert thomson back. No . Sadly injuries seem to have caught up with him. He’s one of the good guys too

You mean 1 injury, that hasn’t even been very long-term.
I would expect a player to be pretty hopeless on their first game back.

Let's be totally honest here. Any footballer that can turn grown men into frothing messes at a first round Challenge Cup tie between two under-strength teams deserves huge credit.

This fellow is taking it especially well.

To be fair to Bobby, he's absolutely schooled this seething chap with his replies.

'Instigating a riot'
'No contact what so ever'

To be fair to the Morton lad, he probably remembers the Morton support being a frothing mess when Pellie the Elephant dropped his shorts to bare his fluffy grey arse at them, a riot probably wasn't far away last night.

Pretty sure Pellie got a ban for quite a while after that too.

Always amuses me when fans think it's fine to give out the verbals to footballers but squeal like dumped girlfriends when a player gives it back.

Barr had one season with us, did ok, moved on. Soon as he left us I lost all interest in him and what he said or did. Shame that some still take the bait.

It's pretty obvious that McKinnon and/or the club don't rate this tournament, hence the team selection last night. That annoys me on two counts.

In my lifetime Morton have reached a grand total of TWO national cup finals. I was too young to go to the first, and the Challenge Cup was the second. Given the lack of top tier participation this is the only cup we have a realistic chance of winning, so it's frustrating to see us go out at the first or second time of asking year after year. Diddy cup or not, a good cup run is enjoyable - or, rather, WOULD be - and this cup gives the chance of playing against teams we'd never otherwise meet outside of friendlies.

Second, our first choice team hasn't yet been performing consistently well, midfield possibly excepted, and the general feeling among fans and backed up by management is " the boys need games so they can gell as a unit" . That being the case, and with no game this weekend, why didn't the defence at least get the chance to gell a bit more last night?

Also, after watching Beanie’s goal, he was perfectly onside. Great call by the linesman.

Rubbish. I wasn't there and haven't seen it, but he's never once been onside in his life.
