Is it a vaguely religious word that you've just learned? If so, have another go on a more apposite thread. Anyway, FTP is fair comment and, in no way, sectarian.. However, in the context of a gathering of a group of football fans, it is definitely lumpen, boorish and moronic. It was famously in Father Ted and was papped in to show how fucking ridiculous folk attempting to intellectualise Durrant being a thick c**t are. "f**k the Pope" isn't sectarian by any measure. "f**k Papists" clearly is. That you can't appreciate the difference between the two and that The H Word is tolerated - or even encouraged on here - is very much to your chagrin. Are you suggesting the pope isn’t a “papist”? Huge if true.

That they can't be 'actual' queens is not at all sectarian. That's just how life is. Like most of your fellow fans, though, you are being either ignorant or stupid here. The Act of Union had nothing to do with monarchical succession. That was enshrined in the Bill of Rights - the one the boys in loyal orders celebrate each July. You may also be thinking of the later Act of Settlement.

I knew you wouldn't answer that question,Scotland's sovereign is life..for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom – for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.Scotland has never had a queen Elizabeth so how can she be the second? The tragedy of the Declaration of Arbroath - in mediaeval Scotland - well-worded as it was - is that appealed to the papacy for some sort of wrong-headed 'hauners' against The English. With hindsight it's toe-curlingly embarrassing. In contrast, Reformation Scotland - inspired by Knox and his fellow protestants - asserted its own polity within the context of the wider UK and sought neither fear nor favour from Rome. This was what allowed us to be the most influential country of the modern era.
AsimButtHitsASix
A thread about Durrant being an arsehole has descended into the pros and cons of the Declaration of Arbroath and the Scottish Reformation. I would say this is absolutely peak minterism but we've not touched on the Highland Clearances, The Scottish Enlightenment or early 20th century Lithuanian immigration yet.
