First booking looks fair enough to me. Second is difficult to tell but looks harsh. Not as obvious as Thomson’s at Stark’s and I’d be disappointed if it was the other way around. Especially the area of the pitch it is in, Swankie is an idiot if he has dived there when on a booking.

However, the way Arbroath fans are going on you’d think it was 0-0 on a knife edge stuff before the red card. We were 2-0 up and comfortable. Even our manager has said he’d have preferred it stayed 11 vs 11 as it made it more difficult for us when you went down to 10.

Harsh sending off? Possibly. Convenient excuse? Definitely.

Swankies first booking is weak but his second is truly bizarre. Ruined the game as a contest.

As a contest, it was over by then.

A bit like the league.

Harsh sending off? I’ve never seen such a ridiculous sending off. Terrible refereeing. Convenient excuse? We’ll never know, but you can bet Arbroath would have improved in the second half.

We’ve been 3-1 down with 10 men away from home and only 5 minutes to play this season and still won, don’t give me any of your excuses...

That interview with Ian Campbell is absolutely bizarre.

We strolled that second half and should have had at least one more goal, genuinely not sure what game he was watching.

More so considering when you watch Arbroath's highlights that Thomson doesn't make a single save in the 2nd half where as Jamieson saved 2 certain goals and was twice beaten saved only by a post and a dodgy flag from the linesman.

Seven yellow cards for them, that'll add some disciplinary points too! Hopefully some nice wee suspensions in the new year for at team that (as both Stranraer and Edinburgh City can confirm) struggles when forced to drop a player or two.

All in all it was a great day yesterday, now over to you Gable Endies they aren't invincible in fact far from it.

Not read the Thread yet but out of interest has Brashy'sBoots been on declaring that Raith's "flair" players will be booted senseless by the opposition in a forlorn hope that Saturday's Officials actually read P&B and that these statements will cement in there mind ensuring favourable treatment for the Raith and the entire Back Four of the opposition to be be booked if not sent off???
Think he's tried it the last couple of times we've played them as well!!!

Didn't work then either!!![emoji6]
How's it going Mr Kebab? Seen the crime count from yesterday's encounter?

Arbroath played an over physical game and it back fired 18 fouls 7 yellows (and a red) in a game is archaic!

Rovers played superbly yesterday defending was solid limiting Arbroath to half chances, and we were unlucky not to extend the lead 2 half offside goal and the post hit as well as a good save from the Arbroath keeper where as Thompson had very little to do and an excellent 2-4min spell of possesion at the end!

Long way to go to catch up with Arbroath, but the chase is on!!!!

Ian Campbell’s a strange man, eh? We’ve done a lot of talking? If Arbroath had scored 1 they’d have scored 3? Loads of loud weeeying as Vaughan hit the post and then again when Nisbet slammed in the potential third which would’ve placed the cherry on the arse paddling cake. Cute.

You'd think Raith were the only team to have players out this season. We have had Thomson, O,Brien, Whatley, Swankie, Denholm, Kadar, McKenna, Doris, Wallace, Smith all out or unavailable so far this season.

ETA Toshney also was crocked 1 game after signing

Gosh! All at the same time?

Also Toshney and Doris aside (both of whom have been shite while playing this season) how many of those above have actually missed more than 2 consecutive games?

Gillespie missed 7 consecutive games, Duggan 7 games, Vaughan 8 games Kieran Wright  10 games, all were missing from 20th Oct to 24th Nov a spell that saw us lose at Forfar and East Fife, The Forfar game was Raegan Hedry's last game and he's been out for 8 now and not expected to return until late January.

All smoke blowing aside lets be brutally honest here, comparatively speaking Dick has had it good so far selection wise, no ToB yesterday or last week and the cracks are starting to show.

Baddy Smith went for Quality over quantity and despite the paper thin nature of the Rovers squad being horribly exposed we stayed 2nd although the gap to 1st grew, yesterday proved what everyone in football suspected, that a near full strength Raith team is more than a match for a near full strength Arbroath 11. Both teams having all their best players available will unlikely to have a dissimilar outcome.

10 points, it's still easily in Arbroath's hands but only if they can bring in suitable reserves and keep their bottle. Neither of which I think they will do sufficiently .

Tick tock May's coming and so is that flag to Kirkcaldy.

Would be incredibly Raith esq to claw back the 10 point gap only to then throw it away again on the last day of the season.

Won’t happen though, Arbroath will likely have the league sewn up before the two teams meet again.
