SueSue
All the sarcasm regards if we need Dobbie is a bit tiresome. of course we need a finisher in the team and we need a couple more to change a game when we are behind. any team would miss Dobbie but every other team in the league have forward options off the bench..... we don’t. defensivly the keeper should never be beaten on the side he is standing at a free kick. the problem we have is not defensive. The stats back that up whether you like it or not. Yes we have had a couple of games where we have conceded to many at home Alloa and ICT. our problem is simply not taking chances and not one option up front from the bench. the Frizzell loan should have been for a striker and not another player the same as Stirling and Murray. 15 attempts 7 on target and no goals today. That is where this game was lost. a team who is drawing week in week out are usually decent at the back but can’t score goals and at present that is exactly what we are. QosLoyal
Flannigan could easily play for any team in this league , how many free kicks has he scored with now ? never gets the credit he deserves strolls around in the midfield with ease too!Like that Zanatta decent player. Hope alloa stay up instead of falkirk, just gutted about the result today.
whereismillar
Zanatta is excellent , goes down a bit too easy though and refs don't like it, but he is class for sure

Don't know why the ref doesn't give it but thankfully didnt affect the game. Assistant ref too I think spot on with the offside for Hastie not that I can see the left back but certainly behind three of their defensive line. Homer Thompson
1 hour ago, Frankie S said: Given we couldn’t even fill the subs bench today, it’s hardly controversial to suggest that we have the shallowest squad in the division. In the absence of Harkins and Dobbie, we weren’t just short on numbers, we had almost nothing in the way of quality today. Bell looked way out of his depth, Doyle is a utility player whose utility is negligible in a more advanced role, and Dykes confirmed that whatever his qualities are, finishing most certainly isn’t one of them, squandering the best chance of the game with a trundled shot past the post when clean through. One goal always looked likely to be enough for a workmanlike but very limited Alloa side against a poor Queens team today, the second was just rubbing it in. Dobbie papers over the cracks in this team, without him we’d be down amongst the dross. If we’re remotely serious about contending for a play off place, then we need to strengthen (considerably) in January. This. We had an horrendous lack of quality up front today, epitomised by Dykes miss but ably demonstrated by Doyle, Marshall, Stirling, Mercer and Todd who all got into good positions in behind the defence but couldnt find a team mate with a cross of any quality. Our main problem, though, is in the centre of midfield. 20 minutes ago, whereismillar said: Zanatta is excellent , goes down a bit too easy though and refs don't like it, but he is class for sure Muir didnt have a problem with it today The penalty claim was the only time he didnt give a free kick for an Alloa player hitting the deck Absolute shambles of a referee
LeodhasXD
Can anyone fill me in what lineup your team was? as in was it a 4-4-1-1 with Doyley RM?

Yes, unless you want to call it a 4-4-2. Todd seemed to switch between playing up front and in behind Dykes, but Doyle started right midfield

Wasn’t aimed at you at anyone in particular. my gripe is that we should have had at least one more forward to be able to change things up if Dobbie was ever out. instead we brought in Frizzel who is a carbon copy of the Sterling, Murray type player

Redwedge77
Thought Queens were very poor today. Anytime under pressure the defence seemed to be falling out with each other. Keeper was static at free kick for the goal. He was far to slow to react and wall didn’t follow his instructions when to move Doyle telling them to stand. Dario was superb today tireless running at the defence. Should have had a penalty. If not a penalty then book him for diving the same as the Queens player in the first half. The ref was scared to make a decision today kept looking for his assistants to help him out. Parry made two excellent saves to keep it nil all he was my man of the match. Solid as usual. Thought Queens were a poor side without Dobbie offered very little. Naysmith will be gone at the end of the season.

Any team without their top player and goal scorer will struggle. We simply don’t have the budget to have any options off the bench.

We are going to struggle if that is our options from the bench we can't even fill the bench Alloa had a better bench than us today that is simpy not good enough Loan players need not cost a lot of money you are only paying part of there wage that is why Alloa had 2 excellent forwards today

19QOS19
Naysmith will be gone at the end of the season.I doubt this. He's not my favourite manager ever but he's doing a very good job with what he has at his disposal. If we finish anywhere above 7th I'd say he's done very well and would be offered an extension.
