Robin.Hood
This doesn't make sense - it implies that all ex players are automatically the same as each other. Alex Ferguson and Ally McCoist were both ex Rangers players, but their managerial careers turned out fairly differently. Arteta is a very highly rated coach and they seemed set to go for him last time before they bottled it a bit and took Emery. Obviously it's still a gamble. A good coach ... First time as a manager and he gets the Arsenal gig. Huge gamble. Just would have thought certainly Arsenal could attract big named managers. But yeah seeing Arsenal fail is glorious to see.

Bishop Briggs
Carlo Ancelotti for Everton? - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50815758. He and his management team won't be cheap. Before he was sacked, his salary demands and Napoli's compensation demands put Arsenal off. Reports say Napoli want compensation from Everton, presumably to claw back some his pay-off. Arteta will be a lot cheaper option for Arsenal. He'd be daft to go without a substantial budget for transfers and clearing out the dross. If Guardiola exercises his reported clause in the summer, Arteta would be the continuity candidate to replace him. Probably wiser to stay in Manchester and see if a better off comes in..

Probably wiser to stay in Manchester and see if a better off comes in..Napoli will want compensation because typically in Italy they sacked manager stays on the payroll. It means they get compensation if they get a job elsewhere but also means they can go back into the job if they sack the replacement (which is why that happens so often over there; you're also not allowed to have more than one job in Serie A each season). If I was Arteta I'd probably wait for Pep to leave - it'll probably be in 18 months if not 6 - rather than taking on a massive rebuilding job at Arsenal.

Bishop Briggs
Neil Shipperley, ex Crystal Palace, admits that he is a w****r - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-50839639. "A former Premier League striker who masturbated in front of a mother and her 16-year-old daughter has been given a 12-month community order." ETA - The story reveals him, despite this excuses, to be a nasty pervert. Edited December 18, 2019 by Bishop Briggs

I don't know if Liverpool will shed any first team players in January as they will want to keep some depth for their title challenge but it's been confirmed that Lallana will leave at the end of the season when his contract is up.

Harry Wilson, on loan at Bournemouth, would be a better option. Edited December 19, 2019 by Bishop Briggs

Sheffield United appears to be a bit of a last ditch attempt saloon for footballers with bad reputations. He would probably just end up being a bit part player like Ravel Morrison if he does end up signing for them

Derry Alli
Alexander Arnold the latest to get caught trying to fire into somebody's missus (who is pregnant). Seems quite a pushy boy. Might end up injured for a bit.

peasy23
Arteta confirmed as new Arsenal head coach. Bizarre appointment imo, think the last thing Arsenal need at the moment is a rookie manager.

Salvo Montalbano
Big gamble for both Arsenal and for Arteta - I can see this season almost being a write off and some big players leaving (Aubameyang will be off I'm sure, probably Özil if they can find someone to take on his wages, maybe Lacazette, Bellerin and another one or two) to try and fund a bit of a rebuild.
