Just looking at the attendance figures from our cup ties (thanks to Burnieclub78) and from 7 home ties 2000 at an average £4 a head = 8K. The 9 away ties were watched by 2250 at average of £4 a head = 9K.  A total of 17K . So not a lot in sharing the gate money based on these approximate figures.

Is there a move in the EOS to go to 50/50?

Hope so  imagine if Bo’ness drew Linlithgow in a cup next season  and the home team got all the money you wouldn’t be happy if you were the away team

The counter argument may have been that it evens out over time and it's simply not worth the hassle of having to monitor whether the home club are at the fiddle where the number of spectators paying admission is concerned.

Doubt 20+ clubs would back 50/50 gate sharing. Home club accrue ground costs, pay the officials, and normally carry majority of support (some of them ST holders). Need to be more refined.

St holders pay at gate in cup games

Whilst the lack of home draws can be a drain on finances it will be the costs involved in renting Newtown Park that will have the biggest impact on funds.

15 home fixtures plus whatever home ties we receive plus 2 evenings a week training over roughly 40 weeks. I have no idea what these costs will be but it is not going to be cheap. Perhaps someone with previous dealings in this can give an approximation of costs.

Only at some clubs - others include all AFAIA. Anyway it's their choice. If you're halving the gate, either they definitely have to pay, or else half the value has to be added to away team's share.

I always assumed halfing the gate in cup ties was to compensate the away team for losing home advantage and travel costs incurred.

Being drawn at home and keeping the gate is scoring twice - extra gate and home advantage.

If you have a run of away cup ties amongst away league games you could quickly face difficulty.

Or maybe it's just the luck of the draw.

How is work progressing after the fire on site? and do you have an estimated completion date yet?

The work is certainly continuing as the floodlights have been erected and the groundworks continues to prepare for laying the pitch. Not so sure about how this may have all affected the timescales
