Oocha hoor! Brad Mackay!!

Was very pleased to see he was trialling yesterday hopefully  manage to get him signed for this season. A player with a lot of experience, and a lot of physicality which are good qualities to have in this league. The back line is shaping up to look very solid this season think the addition of a right back would be sensible. Also a Goalkeeper to compete with Lenny, as his distrubution is poor and decision making has cost us in past games. The main priority signing i feel would be a proper goalscoring striker. Sean Hastie has looked decent at times last season coming of the bench and in some of the pre season games looking like a handful, but doesnt look like an out an out goalscorer. Overall i feel like we have kept that good strong core of players from last year, but a few more signings would be ideal. Fixture congestion has proved to be a problem in this league and healthy competition to push players on is always a positive. Lets hope we can give it a right good go we have a strong squad of players to do so, and hopefully the outcome is a league trophy and a strong play off push towards league 2.

All hear say nothing official yet.

We know it's not official as it hasn't been announced by the club as the paperwork needs to be ratified first

Any idea who the trialist forward was yesterday? Or more importantly, did he look decent?

Scott Logan formerly of Jeanfield Swifts. Same guy that’s played all the friendlies.

He looked okay. Squad option IMO

Nice one cheers for that, haven’t managed to make a friendly so wasn’t sure.

Looking forward to the announcements this week then, signed players only in the cup isn’t it?

And the first announcement is made…

✍️ 𝘾𝙄𝙏𝙔 𝙎𝙉𝘼𝙋 𝙐𝙋 𝙋𝙍𝙊𝙈𝙄𝙎𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝘿𝙀𝙁𝙀𝙉𝘿𝙀𝙍

Manager Patrick Cregg has added to his defensive options with the signing of youngster Ross Milne on a two year contract.

Formerly on the books of youth development programmes at Aberdeen and Dundee United, Ross has successfully come through a newly created Brechin City FC player pathway that has been set up in Dundee, with further details to follow on this initiative in the near future.

Milne recently put pen to paper on his 17th birthday and will look to continue his development with Brechin City.

The right sided defender, who can also play in defensive midfield featured as a trialist in our opening two pre-season friendlies against Dundee United and Forfar Athletic, with a head knock in the latter causing him to sit out the last two matches.

Manager Patrick Cregg commented, “Ross is a young lad who has come in and done really well in training and the two pre-season friendlies that he has played. We’re delighted to have him on board as he starts his journey in football and it’s our job to develop and guide him.”

Brechin City Director Peter Carmichael, who has been instrumental in setting up the player pathway, added, “One of the main reasons I joined the board was to create a player pathway due to seeing so many talented kids being lost to the game locally if they aren’t selected for pro youth by Premiership clubs.

“The Club have been extremely lucky to have secured the services of Kevin Flynn, Leigh Kingston and Gordon Alexander to start a team and build on this. My hope when starting this was to potentially see a player near the first team in approximately 18 months so to see Ross sign so soon is pleasing for myself, Kevin and his fellow coaching staff.”

Completely out of left field that one!

Vicsdiehard won't rate him though no doubt. Would struggle to get a regular game at Nursery Park along with Sparky!

Ha ha ha what Saturday..?

Ok then . Tuesday will have to do.

Maybe start ridiculing this new registration system instead of spouting the first random thought that enters your single cell and you might come close to being up to speed with what is really happening .

Good signing on paper I'd imagine Brad McKay will stroll the HL played decent enough for Kelty anytime I saw him.

Brechin must have been throwing the cash at him as id imagine their would have been a few teams interested in him.

Don't think we have cash to throw about. Him and McHattie are good mates think he would have had some influence on it
