Big Dougie
Organisation was a bit like the performance, a bit mehhh. Enjoyed the atmosphere until the 52nd minute, after that was just a bit disheartened. Now rejuvenated and ready to go again for Friday. It’s amazing what alcohol can do.
Gnash
I did have a metal detector sweep and a bag search - maybe I'm a dodgy looking character - but it was a bit haphazard and inconsistent. Certainly none of the fans bothered with social distancing when walking about.
paul-r-cfc
I had a quick scan with the metal detector, no ID check, plus nobody bothered enforcing the masks thing. Seems nonsense considering we've been told for a year that they're not necessary outdoors (in beer gardens at least). All in, it was a pretty joyless match day experience, mostly down to the result but the crowd and the spacing certainly took some of the buzz away, although I was nearly greeting when the teams came out to be honest.Nice to be back at a game and feel fairly priveleged to have been able to attend, although that's a kick in the teeth for a lot of people that tickets went unsold. On another note, was pleased that the Glasgow programme was "only" a tenner in person. Plus that damn U2 song is catchy as hell.
paul-r-cfc
Also, whose idea was it to call the kids that go out with the players "escorts"? Presumably not a native English speaker.
calcutta
Much less hassle than expected to get in & out. It felt to me that the on the ground stewarding had been organised by someone who was capable of interpreting the rules in a pragmatic manner
BucksburnDandy
The unsold tickets were pretty apparent as large swathes of seats were empty around the ground. The organisation was alright when I entered the ground in truth, have no complaints at that and distancing in the concourse in the South Stand was generally pretty good.Mask wearing at all times didn't stick anywhere in the ground which isn't a surprise on two levels:1) It was hastily bundled out last night2) Every other ground in Europe hasn't enforced it so people don't pay heed to the Scottish Government there.Bar the uncontrolled exit at the end, organisation was fine for my experience. Selfishly, I'm OK with the exit as I got a quick getaway onto the road home.

It was very apparent come KO stadium was only perhaps 1/6-1/8 full. Attendance announced ~70mins... 9,847. Which was more than it looked. Oh I'm not suggesting that wasn't the attendance, I'm asking if we could know whether the tickets were unsold or unused. Could you tell which areas of the ground looked sparse? If it were the North and South stands then that would be the €185 tickets. Behind the goals should have been the €125 tickets and the corners were €50. I'm wondering how many tickets were unused corporate tickets - that could have been over a thousand, handed out to folk who didn't fancy travelling to Glasgow and didn't care enough or weren't allowed to sell them on. Quote We experienced no ID checks... No bag checks... There was barely a cursory scan for metal objects (in our party 1 was waved through, 1 was vaguely waved at, 1 was properly gone over with a detector but it didn't pickup metal sunglasses, keys, phone or foil). If they ever intended to try and enforce arrival times, it had been abandoned by the end of the initial tranche. I had presumed it would be exactly the same as they did for the Commonwealth Games, but that's a long, long way short of that. 57 minutes ago, BucksburnDandy said: Mask wearing at all times didn't stick anywhere in the ground which isn't a surprise on two levels: 1) It was hastily bundled out last night 2) Every other ground in Europe hasn't enforced it so people don't pay heed to the Scottish Government there. Worth saying, Scotland has by far the highest Covid rate of any host nation, and Glasgow is about 1.5 times the Scottish average. There's a weird narrative around all this that doesn't match up with the numbers. -

That suggest to me that it wasn't unsold tickets - I'd been able to buy €185 tickets since Friday, but only very occasionally and fleetingly was there any in Category 2 and none in Category 3.
paul-r-cfc
South stand looked the most sparsely populated from I was. Especially the areas where the most expensive seats would be i thought. I was row A in the north so couldn't get a good look at that one.
d31
Was delighted to be at the game. We decided to wait for one pint in the pub which meant going in at 12.30 rather than our time slot of 11.00-11.30. No one was bothered. The masks were not enforced while seated where we were. Disappointing that there was 2000-2500 missing as would have loved to got hold of more tickets. I think the attendance on friday will be worse
Tartan Dave
I got a hipflask in despite being searched with a detector. Was asked to empty pockets etc but they didn’t detect it so lord knows. Had a capri sun removed off me which seemed harsh. Whole thing seemed a bit overkill, meant to be a fun day out
PELE
Did they run shuttle buses from the centre to Hampden and back?

Jaggy Snake
The South stand looked a bit sparse and so did the section where the Czech fans were. They were very closely grouped together near then front though so it may not have been as empty as it appeared. I was in the West stand and it felt busy (in relative terms). It would be interesting to know where the "missing" attendance was from. As others have said, getting in was pretty easy and the rules weren't really enforced. I saw one person told to put a mask back on but it was fairly quiet at that point and it wasn't mentioned again.
accies1874
Did they run shuttle buses from the centre to Hampden and back?Yeah. Me and my dad were the only ones on our bus there (at 12ish) but the one back was pretty much full.
accies1874
Before kick-off and at half-time, there was a steward who kept on walking down the stairs telling folk to sit in their allocated seats.
d31
Did anyone use the free train out to mount florida? how do you go about activating that? We'd be using that for the second and third games.

I believe you activate a travel pass on the day of the game in the Euro 2020 app. -

There were loads of empty green tick seats up there.
