Falkirk and maybe ICT biggest overachievers among league teams? We should definitely have at least one "9" in there though. If you went back to ICT's formation in 1994 they would rate more than a 'maybe'. Wins at Parkhead, Tynecastle and Motherwell as a lower-league side. Quarter-final in 1996 as a div 3 side. Semi-finals in 2003 and 2004 as a div 1 side. Knocked Celtic out twice, before doing it again in 2015. Also, pre-1994, you could make a fair argument for Caledonian as the Talbot of their day. Ironically I was away on holiday when Thistle pumped Kilmarnock 3-0!!

I was at both games in 2013-14 and I had the privilege of meeting old man McKenzie in the boardroom.

Strathman
Updated table of non league results in the Scottish Cup before it starts again on Saturday. The table covers results since 2007 when the format changed. Auchinleck Talbot still well ahead. Buckie Thistle have moved into second place ahead of Linlithgow and Formartine still ahead in terms of wins against league clubs. With replays being scrapped after Saturday's round Forres Mechanics will retain their dubious record of having the most draws. AsimButtHitsASix
You got this on a spreadsheet? If so could you do a quick calculation to see who has the win%?
Strathman
Don’t know how to do that. Quick look suggests Glenafton at 80% and Sunnybank and Beith 66.6%.

PossilYM
Interesting that Talbot have had more wins in 7 seasons than HL/EoSFL/SoSfl teams that have been around for decades.

I make it 9 seasons. A small consideration once the LL and HL were up and running properly. HL sides and any EoS/SoS sides you'd go on to class as a LL side would enter in the First Round. Then for a time the Top 2 sides in the HL/LL would enter the 2nd Round. While Talbot would be in the Prelims providing an extra opportunity. It's the calibre of wins Talbot have had that's most impressive.
PossilYM
Were Glasgow University and Girvan the only non league teams from the West to take part in the Scottish Cup pre it being opened to Juniors/Amateurs. I've heard tell of Shawfield Amateurs taking part in the Scottish Cup in the 1950s. Guessing they must have been full members of the SFA. There was also a single hurrah from Glasgow Corporation Transport: who made their debut in 1970-71, got R1 bye, lost 4-1 at Brechin in R2 but promptly never qualified again, never winning a tie or playing at home. Many more who put in appearances between the wars: Arthurlie, Beith, Dumbarton Harp, Dykehead, Galston, Helensburgh, Hurlford, Johnstone, Moorpark, Paisley Academical, Renton, Royal Albert, Stevenston United, Vale OCOBA, Vale of Leven Moorpark actually kept trying qualify without success upto 1948-49. Clydebank were a non-league club in 1965-66 but failed to qualify. Edited September 7, 2022 by HibeeJibee
