No but that won't stop the conspiracy theorists. Who will, naturally, completely ignore the fact that Rangers were also denied a stonewall penalty.

^^^Thinks being denied a penalty at 2 nil up is the same thing as scoring a goal and having the officials ignore it.

Except it wasn't fully over as can be seen from the closer angle.

You could argue that at 2-0 up, and after having awarded 4 (FOUR) penalties to Rangers in a game against the other Saints last season, he thought letting this one go might just make him look rubbish.

A bad decision is a bad decision, no matter how much you try and shift the goalposts to suit your agenda.

And it wasn't really a goal was it? Because replays have since showed that the entire ball hadn't crossed the line so therefore the decision was correct after all. Who knows, on another day and another referee, he could have given that as a goal which would have given Saint Johnstone the chance to get back in the game, when they may well have been dead and buried had the stonewall penalty been awarded.

The fact he got the right decision in the Saints v Killie game is neither here nor there - he guessed, when he's supposed to be sure - and there's no way he could have been sure.

The 'Red Card' incident was about the way he did it - he was shouting for it in the same way a fan would.

You have no idea whether he guessed or not. He was fairly well placed for it and might well have spotted it.

On the red card incident, it's exactly what a referee would expect his assistant to do, particularly in a noisy atmosphere. You have to be clear and loud in his ear to make sure the decision is heard and then made quickly.

Doesn't change the narrative of the closet Rangers fans post though.

We won, get over it.

Hard not to be critical after a 4-0 loss, but the overall performance wasnt too bad really. First half we matched Rangers and should've really been ahead.

Second half, fall asleep at own set piece and concede on the counter, a mistake we make every single game and one that's already lost us a game this season. That's not acceptable.

Second we dont have anyone bother to mark the corner taker once the balls active, something we then repeated multiple times after. Game was finished after that, Rangers went up a gear while we gave up, Clark prevented it being a hounding.

No idea if the ball was over the line or not, again caught on the counter but we're chasing a two goal deficit so can't complain too much. Heads completely went after that, understandably.

Dallas is hopeless, just utterly hopeless. Letting two Rangers players walk half the length of the pitch when subbed off, despite standing at a touchline, just so they could get a wee round of applause sums up exactly where his heart lies, as that's a clear and obvious breach of the laws. I've not seen whether we scored or not, 2-1 makes it a different game at the end, but I wont be surprised if it's over and we've not been given it. Dallas has a record of giving Rangers a penalty every second game, over the course of two seasons, so hes simply keeping that record going, you'll get, at least, one next time.

We take the positives away and move on, wins need to start happening now.

It's not. It is at the discretion of the referee.

There was a photo going right across the line at the time that showed it was absolutely impossible for him to have seen it.

On the second one, did you see the video?

Anyway, that game is long gone - just couldn't help make a comparison with that goal line decision where in one he gave the benefit of doubt to the attackers, and in the other, to the defenders.

These things are incredibly tough to get right at that speed and with bodies in the way, and so officials I'm sure are tempted to use guesswork.  I'm pretty sure they're not supposed to do that though.

Even worse then, Morelos was literally at the corner flag, at 2-0 with 15 mins to go, and he let's him walk to the halfway line. Are you suggesting that's acceptable?

FWIW Rangers fourth was offside, assume that "cancels out" this apparent stonewall penalty.

You're right it doesn't. You'd still be claiming a refereeing conspiracy with no evidence and he'd still be right.

It doesn't cancel out anything. It just means that there were two separate wrong decisions in the game which in this case benefitted a different side on each occasion.

M8, it was a joke since Rangers fans, after every game where they get a decision in their favour, spend the next week claiming it's fine because they "cancel themselves out"

With the aid of TV footage ex EPL ref Dermot Gallagher surmised that he got one of the four wrong, which was evened out by not giving the fifth. St Boo players running around like bulls in China  shops were responsible for the penalties.

Also please stop assuming gender, its really upsetting.

I watch Dermot every week. If he is ever asked to comment on any decisions in a Scottish match, he couldn’t care less. Usually just goes with the referee’s take on it just so he can move on to the next English match as soon as possible. I apologise for assuming your gender, and will only refer to you as they or them from now on.

Understandable because these threads generally descend into days of crying if we get a decision in our favour.
