HibsFan
Finally, a player who 'gets' it. Porto will take Cypriot and Kazakh kneecaps away at will. All he needs is the opportunity.
accies1874
I'm delighted* to report that Andrew Considine is the new Liam Lindsay/Zander Clark/Declan Gallagher.*delighted may be the wrong word.
Scumjob
Porteous is a decent enough callup. He's got all the materials to be fair and looks a prospect. The question is whether he becomes a headless chicken at international level like most centre halves we call up.

Burnie_man
I make that 3 CB's lost to the U21's for the Greece game on Friday. All Porteous will do is warm the bench. Why not leave him for the U21 game on Friday, and let him join up for the Kazakhstan game. Edited November 12, 2019 by Burnie_man

Correct, and the U21's qualifying for a finals for the first time since 1996 will be great for everyone in that squad, and a long term benefit (in theory at least) to Scotland. The most important Scotland game this International break is Friday, a win over Greece extends our lead at the top of the group and gives everyone in the squad a boost. If Clarke was after a benchwarmer then call up Considine, or as I said leave Porteous at home for one game. There was definitely a severe spike with him and understandably so to be honest without speculating too much. Now that we have been huckled out there was always going to be a higher chance of call offs.
QwaarJet
I'm sure come March those players with a hang nail now will make themselves available even if they just tore both their quads.
RandomGuy.
Our centre back options for the spot beside Scott McKenna are Mikey Devlin, Declan Gallagher and Ryan Porteous How did it reach this stage.
G-MAN
Porteous is a better shout than uber diddies like Kerr or Lindsay at least. Would've preferred Douglas or Kingsley right enough. Bit weird to split it out from the 2 call ups earlier today.Should have announced. Sir Andrew of Considine.

Bishop Briggs
Alex Dyer does his Comical Ali impression - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/scotland/50389854. "Assistant head coach Alex Dyer says the latest four call-offs from the Scotland squad, including captain Andy Robertson, are all "genuinely injured". Arsenal asked for Kieran Tierney to be excused from the original squad despite the left-back now playing regularly for his club following hip surgery." "If a player is injured, we can't do anything about it," Dyer said. All the ones that have pulled out this time are genuinely injured. It's not like they wanted to be pulled out or didn't want to come." "Dyer admitted that he did not know the details of the latest injuries but insisted that the fact Scotland are now unable to qualify from Group I was not a factor." GTF ya useless w****r! -

Jeremiah Cole
I take it that Matt Phillips has retired as well?So that would be Phillips, Snodgrass and Ritchie all retired. 2 from the Premiership and 1 at the top of the Championship.Yeh, I know, they’re all shite, just cos they play in England doesn’t mean they’re any good, etc, bla blaBut with Fraser out it means we’re left calling up Lewis MorganThat’s what were left with when all these shite Premiership players retireAnd with McTominay out we could have done with McArthur in the side, or even Scott BrownHow come Wales, and the Ireland’s don’t have this number of guys retiring?Cunts, the lot of them
