FFCinthearea
We're heading down to Brentford v Leicester in the FA Cup. It will be nice to see some decent football for a change.

badgerthewitness
Our board are c***s who squandered money & shouldn't have shut down the academy. There, I've just shaved five pages off this thread.

ilostmyself
Definite improvement in the team lately. We're still missing a bit of swagger in the final third and we're absolutely guaranteed to present a golden opportunity to the opposition attack at least once. Hopefully the improvements continue and we're as comfortable as we were (for the most part) against Peterhead.

LoonsYouthTeam
Do we have to? Can we not just give Falkirk a default 3-0 win and move on?
Guest
Let's see what the new boys can do and get durnan out. The spfl team of the week centre back getting the heave? Nae chance. He’ll be the 6th or 7th name on the team sheet for sure.
ebobsboy
Aslong as he gets the heave in the summer we can all rest easy.

Should be as you were come 5 o'clock on Saturday.

I won't believe we will have turned a corner till we are about ten points clear if that ever happens. We are not a good side and if we do get promoted Rays ethos of giving most of them two year deals is another clanger. We will be lower to mid table at best if we run with most of our current side.
Guest
M&M have at the very least, instilled a wee bit of confidence in the team. It’s probably fragile, but for now, it’s there. The bit that plays a significant part in it is the bit that is seldom mentioned. That confidence and momentum affects opposition sides too.It doesn’t mean we can’t lose, but it always tends to put a dent in the expectation of opposing sides. Every little helps, because from here on in, there isn’t going to be any wondrous improvement in us or anyone else.Even if we win the league, we’ll still be saddled with a few of McKinnon’s two year contracts to try and unload somehow. If we only scrape our way out of this league, then as mentioned above, we will be no surprise packet next season. We will be slugging it out at the wrong end of the Championship all over again.
roman_bairn
Don’t think I can remember a time when we have a chance to go top of the table (even if it League 1), but almost total apathy has set in.I’ll be watching this one on Falkirk TV, if they’ve got enough battery power to broadcast for 90 minutes this week that is ...[emoji16]

Off the top of my head I think that Bell, Doyle, Durnan, Buchanan, Telfer, Tidser, Connolly & Sammon (who I suspect may be even longer) are the ones on the longest deals. As things stand I don't think that Durnan, Buchanan, Telfer & Tidser would be much help to us in the Championship, maybe even Sammon too? Bell's struggling fitness wise and Doyle & Connolly would probably be considered of average quality? I think it could be very difficult to move on any of them TBH. The players that I think we would want to keep would be Dixon, Miller, Gomis, Longridge & McManus, all of whom are out of contract in the summer I think so will be difficult to retain. That leaves us with McShane, McLean, Leitch, Laverty and McMillan from McKinnon's tenure that we'd be in a position to release in the summer and I think it's fair to say that they'll all have to go to allow us to get better in.
Russ
Paul Dixon got a 2 year deal as well in the summer and although not a McKinnon signing I’m sure Mutch has got 18 months left on his deal as well.

Wouldn't be too surprised to see Montrose take a point at Raith.

As good as he's been this season, I'd think twice about offering him another deal if we're in the division above.
