If you can't do that then your business should not be open, government instruction or not. Perhaps if decision-makers in private sector firms were threatened with having criminal responsibility for all the infections/deaths caused by their selfish and self-deluded actions then we'd see them take it a bit more seriously. Our whole system is built on making money and squeezing every penny you can. The people at the top of these businesses are there because they are essentially fanatical about money. The government leaving them essentially to their own devices was only ever going to end one way. The government is showing a total lack of leadership and authority. They look lost.

Savage Henry
Mentalists I get that social distancing is tricky at best in airports, but not one person is wearing a mask. This is why the lockdown will inevitably be even stricter.
peasy23
Serious question. My son had been told to stay away from work, apprentice car mechanic. Are MOTs ‘essential’ and still being done. I am just thinking if you are not able to get an MOT you shouldn’t drive the car and your insurance company wouldn’t cover you.Is anything in place for key workers as I work in social care? They have temporarily suspended MOTs for buses and trucks, but not for cars so far. That might change soon.

We don't manufacture these things.

Slacker
Speaking of cars, I'm on a PCP deal that finishes in September. I won't be driving mine again for a long time now. Would I be able to hand this back now? Or is that a total p***k move?
Guest
Our work is becoming more ridiculous by the minute, that's people starting to receive text messages through from the NHS and having to leave, we're getting others calling in sick with cough like symptoms and people are being moved from department to department but don't have system access etc and the communication / feedback from Management and between departments is completely non existent. Basically it's a complete and utter shambles.

Will people continue to accept a staggeringly unequal system of rewards and workers' rights for people in different kinds of occupations? We're certainly learning that in the darkest times humanity cannot survive without the people who do unglamorous jobs that don't require a high level of education. Hopefully, society will no longer accept those who have these jobs being treated like scum. A lot might change off the back of this, but there's a big danger that people allow things to carry on as before. That would be an awful waste. No lessons will be learned sadly. Things will go back to the way they were.
