I'm not trying to play the martyr, but it really is impacting my life, and best guess is another couple of months like this. I get the feeling the Main Players on here have either avoided the lurgy, or have been fortunate enough, being young and fit, to have had a mild dose. I'm fifty seven, with a few recent health issues. You'll forgive me if I don't fall into the "it's just like flu" camp.
Anyhow, I should be getting those high grade drugs into my arm next week - unexpected upside of my stroke a couple of years ago!emoji106.png

I totally get it mate.

I had an op to remove my stomach, and given that's where B12 is made, I'm constantly fucking exhausted. It's beyond anything I've experienced before: have to get up and get on with it as have two young boys, but I couldn't imagine working. I'm utterly fucked by 3pm each day, so I have to arrange everything I do in the morning. Even when I get my b12 injection I have a bit more energy for a few weeks or so then I'm cunted again for 3 months.

If the energy drain from covid is anything like what I'm experiencing, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Got to imagine a lot of people will be getting long term lines from their GP if "long covid" feels anything like this. At least I can get a jag - I've no idea if there's any actual treatment for what they say they're going through.

f**k me. Radio Journo...we have learnt at radio Clyde FROM SOCIAL MEDIA that 20 and 30yo healthy people are being offered the vaccine.....wtf that is utterly pathetic "journalism"

The idea they're lifting the chat from social media is obviously daft, but I know a couple of people in that age group who have received vaccine appointments through and who are completely baffled as to why. There's clearly been some error.

I know what Gregor means but I don't think the word "exciting" would describe any part of the last 12 months.

These people are genuinely so far removed from the overwhelming reality they don't even realise it.

It's become a game to them.

Again though, whilst it sounds shit, cases like your one are not putting any pressure on the NHS and therefore shouldn’t stop anything from being opened up. You sound like you’re advocating restrictions to avoid people getting a viral infection which causes them to get tired for a period, which would be utterly ludicrous.

Hope it gets better for you soon.

Same, although they do work in a supermarket so technically count as a key worker.

Undeniably there is bound to be an odd case like that. It's more the fact they "picked up on it from local SM". He was asked for details of the case so it could be investigated but realistically that's impossible given the source.

I genuinely think our lot are just trying to keep a lid on expectations whilst retaining a high degree of compliance.

Unfortunately they've failed to find a balance when delivering their daily messages.

They might need someone to open the door to their echo chamber.

John Swinney is just a golden ticket winner. He's been inept in every senior role he's had. Miraculous that he's still front and center of Scottish politics. He must be a bloody miracle worker in his constituency to be valued so highly in the party as a whole.

I'm sure he got sacked by Scottish Amicable many moons ago.

I get the impression that he isn't speaking naturally.

Blatently obvious he is reading a statement written by someone else. Possibly NS.

 there is no chance she has the time to write speeches for herself let alone him he probably has to use her speech writers right enough.

Daily Update Infection Rates:   Up again this time by 2.97% as the rest of the UK plummets.  Silver lining is the top 3 (From Yesterday) are all dropping.

My Thought for the day:  Why is Lockdown not bringing case rates lower ?  Actually let's look at Dundee.  Dundee is very high in the charts for levels of Deprivation in Scotland. Not far behind West Dunbartonshire, North Ayrshire & Glasgow. Large areas of almost complete social housing stocks.  Well known areas such as Whitfield, Douglas, Fintry, Lochee, Ardler etc.  However the city has only 71 active Covid Cases, and only 2 areas Kirkton & Linlathen, where cases per 100K exceed 100. Vast areas of the city have the 0-2 cases deemed to be virus suppressed. So clearly Lockdown has worked for Dundee.

Without openly criticising other areas for their poor performance compared to Dundee, I have found some evidence of the problem.  Neighbourhoods with a blokes name in the area are performing poorly. All of these place are at over 300 cases per 100K.  I think i'm on to something but don't tell Nicola .  😉

Clyde from Clydebank, Les from Lesmahagow, Doug from Douglas in South Lanarkshire, Larry from Larkhall, John from Johnstone, Peter from Petersburn, Dale from Dalry, Keith from emm well Keith, Ross from Ross & Cromarty, Paul from Pollokshieds,  Kirk from Kirkcaldy, Cam from Camelon, Stewart from Stewarton and Big Al (No relation) from Alva,   Don't get me onto the Bints like Mary from Maryhill & Helen from Helensburgh. Both just as bad.

Scotland peaked at 301.9 for figures 29th Dec to 4th Jan,    Cases that day were 16,496 and test rate was 11.9%

Total cases latest 7 days are 5,686 and the positive test rate stays at 5.4%.  Cases per 100k drops rises from 101.1 to 104.1 up 2.97%

England 142.8 to 137.8 have dropped 3.50% in last 24 hours.  Wales  89.9 to 87.3 have dropped 2.89% in last 24 hours , Northern Ireland 120.1 to 114.0 have dropped 5.08% in last 24 hours.   UK Average is now 136.5 to 131.8 down  3.44%

Council progress in last 24 hours as follows.

Swinney is an administrator and is utterly useless as a public speaker.  I cringed every time he appeared on a debate programme before the 2014 referendum.

His brother is (or was anyway) the head of SQA for English. Couldn't hope to meet a sounder guy and an excellent speaker. f**k knows where his parents went wrong with his brother.
