They have to simplify the rules for compassionate exceptions and let everyone in the chain know about it.

Michael W
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-57962409 Labour want the self isolation exemption for the fully-vaccinated brought forward. I fully agree. But then, I wasn't the one arguing earlier in the week that we need vaccine passports and a negative test to enter certain venues. More inconsistent and baffling messaging from a clueless opposition.

Social distancing remaining = massive numbers of businesses economically unviable and state continuing to pay millions of peoples' wages. All for a weird cough that means you might not be able to smell anything for a few weeks.

Don't know if you have heard about the coronavirus vaccine programme? It's been in the news quite a bit. And I am exactly the opposite of pig ignorant since I had the weird cough disease two weeks ago.

Don't see why they bother keeping ICUs open for Covid patients tbh.

I know I am a bit touchy at the moment, but as both myself and my wife are locked into our house, both with this “weird cough” I think I am entitled to be. Maybe if you had added to weird cough, days of high temperature, 24 hour vomiting, headache, aching joints, loss of taste and smell, no sleep etc, I might not have got annoyed reading your post. We are both double jabbed. Appreciate symptoms differ from person to person, but to just call it a “Weird Cough” is wat too simplistic. I was locked into my house too. That wouldn't be the case long term for COViD cases. In terms of other symptoms, yes I was lucky. Also worth mentioning that the vaccine doesn't work for 10% of people. So they are still at risk of dying. But we need to think if that's enough to keep parts of the economy shut off. When we were told the available vaccines were 90% effective against hospitalisations and deaths, there was jubilation. I heard noone say 'but what about the 10%?' or 'what about getting minor cases of COVID'. We have completely lost sight of why COVID is a problem- it can overwhelm health services and cause deaths if no treatment exists. But treatments do exist.

Why don't we go the whole hog and call them Doctors or Knights of the Realm? We may as well, those names are just as accurate as using "client". I would use the word "inmate". Perhaps using language which doesn’t belittle them, or reinforce their criminality may assist in their rehabilitation, which at the end of the day is the point. Also, it may remind the prison officers that they are not there to “punish” the prisoners, but look after them. The punishment element has already been taken care of by their incarceration.
