buchan30
I can distinctly remember watching Sky and BBC news channels almost exactly a year ago to the day. I'm not ashamed to say that I was absolutely shitting it and my anxiety levels were through the roof at the time.It was fear inducing stuff. Luckily it didn’t come to that.
Have some faith in Magic
I had to get a plane down to England for work in early March. Anyone that cleared their throat was getting daggers from the rest of the plane.

Gaz
The benefit of hindsight means it's easy to look back at what folk were saying about this last March and heap scorn on them. But I think that's a bit unfair. We'd just found out that China - a country not particularly renowned for its openness with other countries - had been seemingly getting ripped apart by a previously unknown virus. Countries were beginning to shut their borders while our imbecilic Prime Minister was allowing any old c**t to fly into the country and boasting about shaking hands with Covid patients. We were seeing live video of overfilling hospitals and morgues in Italy. We were seeing video of army trucks scooting around deserted neighbourhoods with megaphones on telling folk to go home. It's easy to look back and now think "HAHA REMEMBER WHEN EVERYONE OVERREACTED" but at the time it was like nothing any of us had ever seen before.

When anyone can show me that another month without lockdown measures last March wouldn't have been a disaster then I'll think we overreacted.

We let any c**t fly in and out up until about last week, just when it probably didn't matter anymore
Elixir
I distinctly remember seeing the scenes from Italy and thinking 'boomers and chubsters, seems about right', tbh.
Sherrif John Bunnell
Talking of the past, it's already over a year since this pair of gobshites were whingeing on the news every day about their imprisonment on the Diamond Princess. https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-uk-working-to-organise-flight-for-britons-trapped-on-quarantined-cruise-11936886

A year ago to the day you posted this I flew out to Italy to watch the rugby. Great trip. when I got home my work had banned anyone that had been to Italy from being in the office. Government guidelines at the time were that Northern Italy was taboo, Rome was fine. i didn’t know a single person that thought this situation was that serious at the time.
Lyle Lanley
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will address Holyrood today but is not expected to outline plans for potential Hampden crowds — or even if Scots will be allowed to travel over the border by June. Imagine no fans at Hampden but England games are with full capacity in June Edited February 23, 2021 by Lyle Lanley

Imagine no fans at Hampden but England games are with full capacity in June I suspect that we'll be (rightly IMO) a bit more cautious with schools (my prediction is full reopening after Easter) but I'd imagine other restrictions will be lifted at roughly the same time as down south, assuming the vaccination programme continues to be successful and there's no 3rd Wave caused by chucking millions of kids back together on the 8th March. It's an election year, she won't want the optics of Scotland being closed while folk in England can do whatever the f**k they want.
Elixir
I thought the Scottish Government had already jumped the shark by this point, but surely they're not going to end up going full-on Hitler's bunker and double down on the elimination nonsense. -
