Distant Doonhamer
Which NHS board are you, if you don't mind me asking ? I'm 57 and I've heard nothing.... [emoji20] Today’s figure has 63% of 55-59s in Scotland already vaccinated so you should surely hear soon. If not it’s my understanding you can make contact with local Health Board if you think you might have been missed. Edit to add I’m in Fife and the folk I know in late 50s have already had first vaccine.

There is a big difference in % of adults having the first dose when comparing the NHS boards and Local Authorities. https://public.tableau.com/profile/phs.covid.19#!/vizhome/COVID-19DailyDashboard_15960160643010/Overview Click on the Vaccinations tab and scroll down so Vaccinations by Health Board / Local Authority. Select Local Authority, currently leading the way is Western Isles with 72.2% of all adults having 1st dose. Aberdeen currently at 40.1%, all the cities are lagging behind the rural LA's.

I imagine there will be areas dotted around the country where church attendance is much higher than others. My grandma was from Dalry, and there were certainly a few churchgoers there, but after she passed away we’ve not really kept in contact with anyone from the town. Yes, we're all good God fearing people in the Garnock Valley. Either that or we're all praying for something better in life !!!

Aladdin
Brazil having their biggest nightmare since the 7-1 semi final pumping from ze Germans. The stalling of Glasgow's numbers and Scotland as a whole is a bit disappointing, although, when accompanied by declines in deaths and hospitalisations, not overly concerning.
Michael W
The schools going back was always going to lead to that. There's been small rises in England as well since they went back too. That said, the positives being reported are not alarming given the sheer scale of tests being undertaken.

They are now 20% lower than Scotland in terms of Per 100K.

When looking at the Scottish figures broken right down, the reality is that we're seeing 4 and 5 people from towns populations of 8,000 and 9,000 actually catching the virus. I don't know about anyone else, but I'd say these sort of figures point to us having the virus well under control.
Elixir
There's also less acquired immunity through natural infection in Scotland compared to England, and we have a slightly lower proportion of the population vaccinated. Little things like that all add up.

You look at all the council figures in the UK and we have the best 5 authorities in the UK in low case rates. At the other end we have West Lothian head and shoulders above anyone else in the UK. I joke but 1 party in Dundee doubles a large cities case rates. Fortunately no one gives a shit about students. So many swings and roundabout. An irrelevance for many including me. Just putting it out there.

superbigal
I'm 52 in North Fife. Vaccine 100m from house on Saturday. Every single one of a group of 8 mates aged 51-52 in North Fife (Larrick centre Tayport or Cupar) & Dundee (Caird Hall) all had letters in last 4 days. Destinations in brackets.

If anything, it shows the strength of the vaccination programme. If you look at the data on Travelling Tabby, case numbers are only rising in the younger, and therefore less vaccinated cohorts.
