Interestingly enough on my walk earlier I walked over a bridge that is at least 6 foot wide.  An absolute moon unit walking towards me stopped before the bridge, pulled up their mask and turned their head away.  If you’re that paranoid don't leave the house.
Other than that weirdo though loads of people chatting in the streets, no masks, no social distancing and quite rightly so.
Rational people have had enough.  Those who want to live in perpetual fear can do so let the rest of us get on with life.

Couple days ago I noticed a guy cycling wearing a mask but not wearing a helmet. Felt like stopping to tell him that he would be far safer ditching the mask for a helmet.

Maybe nothing to do with covid - I wear a face covering when cycling sometimes, even running (especially in trails or along the canal) as it stops me swallowing bugs.

Na it was a blue fluid resistant mask and he was cycling around the town centre.

I really can't get my head round why you would go for a test with no symptoms. My missus had it in November, and the only way I was going for a test was if I had developed symptoms. I had to go for one last week as I was going in for surgery, I can think of a lot more pleasant ways to pass a few minutes.

I always feel like I'm missing something with these adverts but if you feel fine why would you get tested?

^^^Both giving in IMO.

But yes completely agree it’s utter nonsense. Probably hoping they get loads of asymptomatic cases to keep numbers high and use as reasoning for not easing restrictions.

You definitely need to take a test if someone in your household tests positive.

Seeing the Free Palestine protest in London and the Rangers celebrations in Glasgow demonstrates that people aren't interested in restrictions any more. Yet we have the UK and Scottish government giving advice on hugging with completely straight faces. At this point all the talk of restrictions in the UK is political theater by cynical governments.

Why would you take a test just because someone in your house is positive? My wife had symptoms, tested positive, then lived in the spare room for 10 days. My daughter and I isolated as instructed and neither of us had symptoms. No need to be tested.

You didn't say you isolated. That's fair enough.

The second 'article' is utter fucking waffle. There is a difference between lab based antibodies and real world data for starters. This same nonsense came out for the 'South Africa' variant, yet a huge real world study in Qatar showed despite 'considerable' reduction in 'protection', the protection that remained err... was still overwhelming in terms of being able to stub out the shan variant. The 'South African' variant also has greater partial immune evasion than the 'Indian' variant, so this mewling can be directed into the nearest bin.

This breakdown in messaging is simply yet another failure of 'the science'.

True. I quoted poorly, was referring more to people taking tests without symptoms.

Shite news for Glasgow can't blame folk now for flaunting the rules but hope sizable chunks of folk get lateral flow tests at home and floor the test positivity

That is what is happening at the moment. "Flouting" them, on the other hand...
