Coronavirus and the Scottish Championship

Recommended Posts

😂

Global pandemic brings the entire World to a stop.

Football is stopped for the first time since the War.

Scottish football is casting votes and proposals to find a way out it, with most clubs forced to start crowdfunding schemes simply to maintain their existence.

Owners of Championship clubs squabble on Twitter about not being invited into group chats 😂

Fucking yes.

This is what this has all been missing 😂

Stick her in charge of the SPFL based on name alone 😂

Not necessarily. It's perfectly feasible there's a group chat and Lachlan Cameron just isn't Ayr's rep on it and wasn't aware of it. It's surely more likely to be Tracy McTrusty or some other Scottish based rep?

I hope Tracy McTrusty is a real person. What a name.

Aye she’s our club secretary.

Even if it is her wouldn’t the chairman of our football club know we had a rep in that chat. I know he’s thousands of miles away but he’ll still be kept informed as to what’s happening with his own club.

You're being terribly insulting dear chap.

I agree that the current circumstances are not traditional.  However, you're still failing to say why traditional rewards are appropriate, yet penalties are not.

There's a contradiction there that you will not address.

Cool m8.

He certainly should know, if he didn't there's a communication problem at your club.

I agree

Cameron is still maintaining he’s had zero contact with any other clubs apart from a conversation with Ian McCall. If there was a group chat then he would either be in it himself or be in direct communication with whoever our rep was.

So, who are we reckoning created the Twitter account @Nick_Russell__ to 'leak' the WhatsApp messages (Which have been edited to remove names) and say exactly word for word what Scot Gardiner said Eric Drysdale posted in the supposed WhatsApp group? It has to be one of the senior club officials in this 'chat' but why the underhandedness of creating a fake Twitter account?

That line about the "big hitters" is fucking nauseating if thats legit.

Can literally only be Celtic trying to force Dundee to say yes, and if so, they need heavily, heavily, punished for that.

Why didn’t Scottish football just wait on better organised leagues around the world making decisions on the best way forward and just go with the majority.

Because some clubs are desperate for money and the SPFL won't ante up until final positions are decided.

The whole Celtic thing doesn’t make sense. Null and void is off the table so they’re going to be crowned champions either way. Whether that’s by resuming the season or calling it as it is.

Is she related to Boaty McBoatface?

Its been made pretty clear over the past decade that they're on a complete power trip, and try to influence literally everything.

St Johnstone held an in-house meeting to decide whether to give them 3 stands. Lawell phoned Steve Brown, without prompt from Saints, to tell him of all the benefits.

They need their grubby fucking fingers in everything.

Then they should be held accountable if clubs die.

Does anyone know what proportion of the prize money is still to be doled out?  Someone on here said that the prize money is paid over the course of the season - March being the latest - but what's left?  The Premiership winners get £3.35M - how much have Celtic received already?

You've dropped the 14 team bottom division for a 12, fair enough. How will you get round the lack of league games in the top two? 15 home games, particularly in the championship, that's a potential 20% drop in gate money, before you factor in playing less attractive fixtures.

Would you have splits and play offs within the divisions to maintain the tv requirement of enough games between the big teams to attract a tv deal?

I agree there are hurdles to a league reconstruction.

In the league of 16 I would play every side 3 times. After playing each other twice you would then play 7 away and 8 at home.

Still not perfect but nothing is going to be perfect at the present time.
