Amazed that it's Aswan, that picture makes it look like a city of millions.Fertile land next to the river leading to desert suggested it was the Nile. Feluccas in the background confirmed this. The built up area suggested close to a city.Then only looking down through the Nile. Of course I started from Cairo, so took a little while to get to Aswan!
