People aren't really getting this whole situation, letting in a small number of fans is only a small part of the problem and help no club financially anyway especially when you consider the financial outlay clubs will have to make to get anything going. Thats before you consider all the hassle a normal fan most of whom are over 50 will have to go through just to watch a non league game, just isn't worth it. Any plans brought out by this new West of Scotland group will be pointless its making plans for sake of it to say they are doing something as they are getting stick for being totally inept so far. Time people realise this season is done already. U sound fun

Surely it’s up to them is it not?

Sound like you are desperate for it to be done You dont feel its worth it, dont go Time for people to stop the hysterical fear mongering and realise that this is very manageable, with appropriate and realistic precautions

Andy groundhopper
Down here in England, clubs got together and went to the FA and government to say 'save our game' , with loads of support. Football is exempt from the Joy of 6 guideline, therefore nearly all of our non league and parks level football has started. Crowds are coming back in decent numbers, clubs have tried hard to follow guidelines and that's with the English covid19 numbers too. Wish Scotland would give clubs a chance.
peasy23
"The indicative start date for the new season was scheduled for Saturday 10th October. This however can not be confirmed as a Scottish Government review is due on Thursday 1st October. This review will affect our ability to commence with the new season, with any changes identified coming into force from Monday 5th October. Therefore the IMG are recommending that the indicative date for the start of the new league season be put back by 3 weeks, in line with the timescale of policy reviews by the Scottish Government, to Saturday 31st October. This however MAY change depending on the impact any future announcements from the Scottish Government would have on clubs ability to start the season."Last week the IMG told us 10th October was almost certainly not a realistic option for starting the leagues. This week we get issued a fixture list starting on that date. What changed in the meantime?

This week we get issued a fixture list starting on that date. What changed in the meantime? The same question everybody and their dug has been asking. Assume taking the" ifs buts and maybes" thinking the same as SG. Edited September 18, 2020 by Sancho Panza
FairWeatherFan
I think the reason is just that the Lowland League and then the EoSFL announced their fixture list. Football's competitive after all and clubs will have been asking why can they start then and we can't? It doesn't say they're actually starting on October 10th though.

Suppose it's easy enough to bat the dates on a few weeks but might have been better to just call it week 1, week 2 etc in meantime.

Probably, could be a way to sway clubs to support the October 10th start date. Starting to see some clubs back a #LetFansIn campaign on social media and writing to their MSPs.

Sancho Panza
Let's be brutally honest here, starting the season on the 10th without fans for an undefined period can't be allowed to happen. This will be the death of more than a few clubs!!!

Exactly, cue a few clubs with' sugar daddies' pushing for it as their bottomless pit wont be affected.

The Lowland leagues (possible exception of SoSFL) are starting October 10th. Highland leagues are starting October 17th. But apparently they've all come to this decision so they can kill clubs. In the same way the leagues shut it down when they were told in March, they'll do the same. They're just trying to work to the guidelines that have been set out.
striker9
Sounds to me like teams haven’t really thought about the consequences of splashing the cash during a pandemic(their own fault)3 more weeks of friendlys is still gonny cost the teams money in fees. I’m sure most players would defer/come to a compromise in wages until fans were allowed back in if it means getting competitive football back.

I suggested this before, only to have some smart arse jump down my throat claiming I was pushing for players playing FREE for an entire season The only concern I have is if a player is asked to quarantine of 14 days through T and T after playing a game... who covers the loss in earners from their full time job? Would their usual insurance covers this?
