The LL is stronger than you are giving it credit for.

Top half of the LL is strong, while the bottom half is generally two tiers higher than they will probably wind up in another decade or so. Fair enough to predict that clubs in the lower half will struggle against top WoS opponents that were in the west superleague last season.

they just drew Vale of Leithen again ??  WTF ........based on the twitter feed something has gone wrong.   Vale of Leven and Vale of leithen have been mixed up on their twitter feed

That was my fault.

I posted the fixture as Vale of Leithen instead of Vale of Leven on the live chat probably out of habit but it was correct on the stream draw.

Joys of multitasking. 😂

Newcastle Broon I dont mean no credit. But Gala got scudded off Tranent last year. Dalbeattie, Gretna not very good. Penicuik, Kilwinning, Hurlford top teams.

Dunipace beat Bonnyrigg last year in same comp as well. 😉

As I said in another thread depends how seriously clubs want to win it,some will have priorities elsewhere this season.

They still deserve some credit for taking the leap to the LL when others were very shy of it.

The failure to implement a second automatic relegation place after the mass defection of east region clubs three seasons ago means that they are mainly going to be remembered now from lingering like a bad smell.

By you maybe. Others will probably have seen it as a lopsided pyramid, that was then tied into licencing & PWG farces.

Longtime ffs, common seriously. Did you think that was true 100% as you typed it out.
You'll wake up in the morning, read what you typed and think "what was I on"

If it sticks at one automatic relegation place (turkeys don't vote etc...), the playoff bottleneck is going to become a huge issue in the not too distant future because the east and west champions will have to playoff against each other. Something like Talbot vs Linlithgow Rose as a promotion playoff with a club like Edinburgh Uni safe for another year is going to be what gets remembered.

Be prepared for another licencing farce circa 2021. Only 6 months to go for February 2021. Leaving too few WoSFL clubs licenced ahead of the 2021-22 season to change the current LL playoff arrangement.

Personally, don't see any changes until the 2022-23 season rolls around. Happily surprised if there's a change for 2021-22.

I don’t think the play-off is done by licensed clubs,  Is it not an agreement between the leagues?  Therefore each clubs getting licensed doesn’t directly change the likelihood of any change.  However it would add more weight to the argument of the tier 6 leagues if they had a high % of licensed clubs.

The agreement is between the leagues. The argument for two promotion spots is strengthened by having two leagues basically guaranteed a licensed champion.

If summer 2021 comes round and licensing has been held up there's no real reason to change the current format.

On the other hand. Talbot, Kilwinning, Irvine Meadow, Clydebank, Cumnock, Darvel etc are getting their SFA memberships you've got pressure to change ahead of the 2021-22 season.

Agree with you.

Although, I think there is a problem with 2 automatic promotion spots and how it would work with 3 feeder leagues.

Licensing in the Lowland League is predominately down to the Scottish Cup entry, hence why there's unlicensed teams in the East of Scotland with no issues. Only Vale of Leithen don't have floodlights installed now but that is soon to be eradicated after they got funding from the council.

Only licensed clubs would be in the play-off in any instance. The West have to catchup with the East in terms of licensing obviously having just joined the pyramid.

Most teams in the East of Scotland Premier are licensed so there is nothing stopping them from being promoted to the Lowland League automatically if a West team or South of Scotland are unlicensed.

The reality is if a full season is played there is a high probability that 2 or 3 teams could be relegated from the Lowland League at the end of the season

17th - To get the league back down to 16

16th - EoS/WoS/SoS round robin winner (depending on licensed teams as previously mentioned)

15th - if a League Two team is relegated to Lowland League
