Due to the number of entrants there's likely to be a large number of byes the first round (Roughly 7 or so) - rather than do it the previous season's method where the crucial semi-final involved a bye. Does anyone have any strong opinions on which players get a bye round? The two obvious options are: 1) Just make it entirely random. Everyone has the exact same chance of having to play one extra round. 2) Seed it based on the previous season's league performance - that is take the top players who finished the league who are still in the cup, ordered something like: Division A players (in order of end season result, minus the relegation and playoff spots) Division B automatic promotion winner Division A/B playoff winner Division A/B playoff loser Division A relegatee The rest of the Division B players (in order of end season result) I'm happy either way. I'd lean marginally towards keeping the cup entirely separate from the league and just giving everyone an absolutely equal chance per 1), but maybe this is an affront to someone's idea of sporting integrity. Could have gone either way tbh. I had to be very careful.
