Aye, but it would affect everyone, surely?

Also the like of Brora and Kelty who were denied entry just a few months ago.

If you've ever been denied entry, you'll know how frustrating that can be. ;)

Part of the proposal is to expand League Two to 16 teams, to include teams outwith the top 4 tiers alongside the Colts.

The League Two thread is massive and you'll get all your information there. Theres also a thread in League One, and the Championship, sections.

As far as the proposal is concerned, if it involvess colt teams joining the SPFL, get it straight to f**k.

The Scottish football 'funny shaped pyramid' already has some colt teams.

Stranraer (Tier 4) have a reserve team in Tier 6 (South of Scotland League), as do Caledonian Braves (Tier 5).

Stirling University (Tier 5, Lowland League) have a reserve team in Tier 7, East of Scotland Conference B.

Linlithgow Rose and Bo'ness United have also left colt sides in the junior east premier league (Tier 9), whilst their first teams have stepped into the Lowland setup (Tier 5).

Cool - put the rangers and celtic colt teams in there, never to be promoted.

They weren't "denied entry". They were denied the chance of getting a chance to gain entry. Only one of them could have gained entry, anyway, should they have defeated club 42 (aka Brechin City) in the play off, after beating the other one in the prior play off.

Ken - they were denied the opportunity they had earned to play for it.

I would like to deny the old firm such an opportunity, based on the fact that they already have teams in the SPFL.

Debatable on the last two as they were really separate clubs trying to hijack the traditional derby when the east region still thought they had a chance to enter the pyramid under their own steam. The Lithgae "tribute act" has folded, but BUJFC are talking about trying to get into the EoS next season under another name. Real BUs are not happy about that but don't own Newtown Park so might not be able to prevent it. The one you have missed is Nairn County in the North Caley league, which should get into the north pyramid soon as a tier 6 feeder to the HL. The north region seem to be dragging their feet about being the other feeder so whether that actually happens remains to be seen.

The Junior East premier league is not tier 9, it's not in the pyramid at all, so it's not a comparison. The Linlithgow one seems to have folded already. Bo'ness JFC don't have an official link to the LL club and if they join the East of Scotland League they will likely do so under a different name, without a link to Bo'ness United.

I don't agree with the Stranraer, Caledonian Braves & Stirling Uni reserves teams either, but  none of them can get promoted to the Lowland League, regardless of the divisions of their first teams.

Stranraer and Stirling Uni won't be hoarding all the best young talent in the country for their own gain and to the detriment of the rest of the league.
