South Challenge Cup 2021-22

That'll be because there's now 7 WOS League Cup games on that date though, which will allow the last 16 to start being played soon after that.

It's also Scottish Cup semi-final weekend (no Premiership games). The EOS has had a full league card on this date since the fixtures came out so you can't really change things now.

Thats fair enough. The other games dont matter but holiday weekends always good for bringing the big crowds. The Wosl etc should be rightfully proud of this tournament.
Got to fancy the winner of the Talbot vs Lok game as the winner.

Yeh just thought easter weekend would have been a belter for the South/east/west/LL’s premier competition!

The final round of LL games are usually scheduled for mid-April. Since they have to be finished two weeks earlier than SPFL2 due to the playoff format.

Dont see why the sjc cant be moved to mid week, afterall, the clubs in the South Challenge cup all left the junior leagues, surely its better to have the actual southern non league cup that weekend?
They've had SJC matches on a couple of weekends now, which is a bit mad when trying to complete a 38 game season plus the other assorted mandatory WOS cup matches.

Next season might have been a bit easier to fit it all in, regardless of how relevant non participating clubs feel about it.

Funnily enough it'll likely be an SCC semi which is played midweek if Bonnyrigg get through as their pyramid play-off second leg is on 30th April. And the final, or more likely the tier 6 play-off date, might have to be changed if it involves one of the tier 6 champions.

Still, better than having to wait 7 weeks to play the Junior Cup final if you are Petershill or Yoker

Il never agree that any meaningful saturday should never be used for a cup from an organisation that clubs left. But agree that it would be slightly easier next year.

The clubs didn't leave - hence them playing in the cup competition.

Quarter Final

Auchinleck Talbot 2-1 Pollok
Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic 3-0 Bo'ness United
East Kilbride 0-2 Sauchie
Jeanfield Swifts 3-4 Spartans AET

Semi Final

Auchinleck Talbot vs Sauchie
Spartans vs Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic

Cracker of a result for Sauchie.

Wonder where the final will be. Would be good to avoid an Airdrie or Kilmarnock  and use Pollok, Linlithgow or similar.

I was thinking Hamilton or Almondvale if Talbot are a finalist. If it's an all East affair maybe still Almondvale but certainly a non-SPFL ground might be on the cards.

Pollok or Linlithgow for me if Talbot get to final.

Depending on the clubs involved the original date of 22 May might well need changed as well.

If Talbot are champions and finalists (plus Junior Cup finalists) then it really needs the EOS v SOS game to be played on the 21st or 28th, otherwise there's not enough Saturdays available.
