I don't usually get onto the ABE bandwagon now, maybe as I don't live in Scotland anymore and can get away from the media coverage. Last night or eary morning I watched it on BBC. I don't think I have ever celebrated a goal that has not been a Forfar or Scotland, like a did with Italy. To the game, I was obviously watching something else than Jermain Jenas, apart from the first 20 min in the game and a 5 minute period in extra-time, England didn't have a kick of the ball. Italy fully deserved that, there can be no complaints. If Italy had won it by 2 goals, nobody would have thought any different. As for the penalties, You could see in the England huddle Southgate, telling the players (I think( who was taking them and which number to be taken (definitely what number). Really bad management. Which left a young 19 boy hanging out to dry. His subs, all of them came too late in the game. All in all great entertainment all round, and for my quiet a good tournament. His coaching deficiency is not so much his selection and planning but his in-game management. Both the WC semi and yesterday, the opposition countered England's early pressure with some tactical tweaks. Between that, booing the knee, the scenes before the game, Southgates dog whistle who won the war shite.... Is it really any wonder the world loves to see them fail. The England football fraternity is the most toxic enviroment know to man. Get it right fucking up them. As for the match, Southgate did a lot of things right over the tournament but ultimately, thinkning you can rope a dope for 85 minutes is a mega risky strategy because as we seen its so hard to get going again if you concede. As for the penalties, well that was a huge risk what he did. Rashford and Sancho cant have touched the ball or barely. Pretty hard to have your eye in in those circumstances.
