As far as I am aware there has only been one vote on that subject in recent years, although I stand to be corrected. Any LL club, at any time, can propose a new vote, and you would have thought that with some new clubs from East (Linlithgow, Tranent etc) having arrived there would be enough support for it now. Unfortunately we have had no teams from the West as of yet, and if Beith win the league again this season that will not change.

A lot of Premier Division clubs would be happy to see Beith win the league without an SFA licence.

Especially in Ayrshire.

They don't want anybody rocking the old Juniors boat and they certainly don't want a Broomhill or that outfit from Strathclyde Park anywhere near that cosy arrangement.

Nice wee local derbies v the ex mining village down the road and a run in the Big Scottish Cup.

And oh watching The Rangers on a Sunday on TV.

St Cadoc's, Gartcairn, Drumchapel Utd might be on their way, and who knows how high the 4th Division types might climb given time.

Unless the SFA open up the licensing applications again, nobody will be going anywhere soon.

Three teams you've mentioned won't get a sniff at a play off anytime soon.

We're not talking about the play-off. We're talking about clubs supposedly happy staying in the WoS Premier playing

That changes if more glorified youth teams with small fanbases playing in sport centres/cages start squeezing them out.

Regarding the West.  If Beith win the league and do not have  a license then they cannot be put forward to the Playoffs but the WOSFL should be able to nominate the next team who has a license.  This is similar to the deal that if Hearts B or Celtic B win the league they cannot be put forward by the Lowland League for the playoff but can nominate the next team who can be put forward.

Hi , just to clarify,  not justify,  that's a separate issue. The LL rules are clear that the B teams are " Guests " and as such cannot be named as Champions,  even if they finish top of the league at end of season. So the question of " nomination " does not apply.

Only the Champions qualify for the Playoffs. As the B teams cannot be so declared, falls to  best placed non B team, even if placed 3rd in table.

Might be argued as semantics, but pretty certain the B teams would  never have been accepted otherwise.  Apart from LL issues, this was clearly an issue for SPFL teams. Again not trying to justify,  just clarify.

Find it strange that buffs have no fixture next week due to Johnston burgh playing in another organisations trophy

Well I'm sure Kennie is on top of it, but there's four league games scheduled, three teams in the Junior Cup, one in the Strathclyde Cup which leaves four others - Kilwinning v St Roch's is a possibility (leaving Thorniewood v Whitletts, scheduled for January).

Edit: looks like that has now happened.

Fixtures altered to allow playing of the Strathclyde Demolition Cup and the Clydebuilt Home Improvement Scottish Junior Cup as voted for by the clubs in membership of the WoSFL.

All clubs in the First Division have a fixture. 3 in the Junior Cup, 1 in the Strathclyde Cup and 12 in the League.

What a game at Buffs Park today. Buffs displayed their never say die attitude once again.

A tough one for the referee. St Roch's left the boot in on several occasions. The referee was very lenient with them, but with no linesmen he did well to contain the game.

The right result in the end though. Another 3 points gets us up the league. COYB.

Cracking entertainment, 7 goals, a penalty, a rescinded red card (was there VAR at play in the game🤔) some shocking challenges, some fine goals from both sides and ultimately a hard earned Buffs win.

Ref had a difficult game, I'm no saying he was old, but pretty sure he had a sun dial strapped to his wrist.

Well done to the vast majority of the St Rochs fans who respected the minutes silence, and made for a great atmosphere, as for the very few that didn't, give yer heads shake, there's no need for that nonsense.

A Buffs programme from 2009.

Ben Lewis listed and still a first team pick for the Buffs in 2023.

Must be heading towards a double testimonial year as he shows no signs of slowing up yet.

What a superb servant Benji has been to the club. He probably had opportunities to move on to a higher level but has stuck with us through thick and thin. Loyalty like that is rare these days.

Ben Lewis, one of our own.
