Another raft of changes. Defence, midfield, and attack, all different.

Clark

MOH - Muller - Gordon - McCart - Booth

MacPherson - Bryson - Crawford

Middleton - Kane

Front two really need to step up, both been well below the levels they set last season so far.

If that team doesn’t get relegated I’ll eat my hat.

Agreed on both counts.

Middleton just looks like he can't be arsed half the time. It's not like he just needs to get through this year and then resume his glorious future at Rangers. If he doesn't step things up massively compared to how he has been this season he'll never play for Rangers again.

Can understand him being a little frustrated at how in and out the team he is though. For such a small squad we seem to have tonnes of people rarely getting enough minutes.

What does he see in MacPherson?

Set plays maybe? If you're not scoring from open play then having someone who can put great balls into the area from set plays can be vital.

Not as if we've any other options either. Ballantyne/Gilmour loaned out, Craig presumably injured, Davidson took a knock on Wednesday and also ran himself into the ground.

Not saying its what it is, but there's always this worry with loanees. If they're not playing and the squad is struggling then what's the incentive to dig in? He'll get his wage and return to Rangers in the Summer regardless of what happens to us.

It was a worry I had in the Summer, alongside the fact we were bringing in rookie defenders who's mistakes would cost us games but long term wouldn't benefit us. Feels pointless.

Fair points - didn’t realise Craig was out either

I think he's better than Craig. Just.

Probably just cause he has the mobility of youth. Other than that he looks just like an unwanted St Mirren player. Fail to see why CD was so enthusiastic about the signing.

We're a completely different side when we can press. Hopefully we don't get shafted with injuries like we did v Hearts and we can keep it up.

Not created anything beyond the goal, which was a United mistake, but ball is getting played in dangerous areas so we will create chances. Middleton v Smith an interesting one, as Smith is a big unit who's also quick, but he's incredibly raw too, so Middleton just needs to keep getting at him.

Liking a lot of our play but lots of the same issues with not creating enough chances from good positions. Crawford showing what he adds to our side - not sure anyone else in our squad scores from there except Wotherspoon.

Macpherson’s press made the goal too. Shame he can’t pass or control a football tho

Sounds like a rough first half for United.

Hopefully Pawlett and Niskanen coming on for the 2nd half makes a difference.

Appere really isn't a winger and all the more reason for him to get training and developing as forward

I imagine the game will turn when we get our customary 2/3 injuries which causes us to lose all tempo tbh.

He looked really confident in his first few games but has clearly had it smacked out of him.

John Hartson singling you out on national radio for no reason will do that.
